Ah, you found it! I always leave a little something undone to see who will be first to discover it.
In the mind, or consciousness of the Earth this flower first lay latent as a dream. Perhaps, in her consciousness, it nested as that which in us corresponds to a little thought.--A.Blackwood

Thank you
You have an enjoyable voice, good timing, and your technical aspects are exemplary for a new reader
I do have a few comments to pass along: as your smiling DPL (dedicated proof listener) I tend to give more feedback to new readers.
For section 2, at 5:39 the text reads "4 servings", I heard "makes 4 to 6 servings."
I have marked section 3 as PL Okay, but will point out an optional edit. Around 4:50 there is a very slight stumble on "375".
With the exception of plays and dramatic readings, we do not expect readings to be word perfect. For example. frequently two words are made into contractions, or a contraction is split into two words. We still attempt to read what is written, being neither authors nor editors. This can be particularly difficult when reading something technical such as a cookbook. I heard several occasions where you inserted small words such as the or a. Also: makes, serves, then, about. I would ask you to try and keep an eye on inflection. This book is entitled Betty Crocker's Bisquick Cook Book: 157 Recipes and Ideas. Note that the punctuation indicates a break between Book and 157, while I heard the break between 157 and Recipes.
These do not (in this case) change the meaning, but it is something to consider for your many future recordings.
Again, keep up the good work, and I look forward to hearing much more from you.

Great
Just reupload using the same file name and then drop a note here in the thread so I know to spot check the new file.

My two, Ready for PL. Why are these harder to read than they look?

Well, they really are rather like technical reading. It would help if Tbsp were capitalized.silverquill wrote: ↑January 27th, 2023, 1:40 pm My two, Ready for PL. Why are these harder to read than they look?

Nice reading as usual, Larry: very smooth. Just a couple notes:silverquill wrote: ↑January 27th, 2023, 1:40 pm My two, Ready for PL. Why are these harder to read than they look?

Section 1:
around 2:08 "milk", I heard "mick"
around 4:01 "1 1/4 (one and a quarter)" I heard "one a quarter." For consistency I would expect the "and".
I realize these are short sections, but doubling the end silence to ten seconds is unnecessary.
Section 19:
around 0:57 repeat "pat to make 5" square"
around 1:39 "1 1/4" I heard "1/4"
around 2:27 please delete "water"

Hello!
Here are the revised sections 2&3, Main Dishes Parts 1&2:
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/bettycrockers157_02_crocker_128kb.mp3
I changed it at 5:39 so that is says "4 servings" instead of "4 to 6 servings."
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/bettycrockers157_03_crocker_128kb.mp3
I fixed the stumble at 4:50.
For both revisions, I also changed the intonation to that it doesn't suggest that this is Betty Crocker's 157th Bisquick Cook Book
For future recordings, I'll be sure not to insert extra words like makes, serves, or about.
Thank you very much!

Well, this is embarrassing. Just sloppy work. True, I was rushed and interrupted, but I knew I should have taken another pass before uploading.JHedrick wrote: ↑January 27th, 2023, 3:08 pm
