No need to worry about new timestamps! The original ones are close enough.
For the time being, I'll need a little more time than usual to PL sections that come in on weekdays. Thanks for your patience.

Chapter 5 is nicely done, as always! The only note I have is that at 7:38, "in the low quarters of town, of course," you say "in the low quarters of the town, of course."

Chapter 5 is PL OK!

Chapter 6 sounds great! The only note I have is that at 26:59, "in harsh, peremptory tones," you say "in harsh, pre-emptory tones."

I've been enjoying the whimsical names Mirrlees comes up with for her characters, and I think "Penstemmon Fliperarde" is my favorite so far!

Huh! I learned a new word today! I think I've been saying "pre-emptory" for "peremptory" my entire life. (Fortunately I haven't had many occasions to say either.)

Here's the corrected Section 6:

And here's Section 7, which centers another character with a great whimsical name, Moonlove Honeysuckle:

Section 7 sounds great! The only note I have is that at 20:14, "There was probably no one in all Lud-in-the-Mist," you say "There was probably no one at all in Lud-in-the-Mist."

Thank you! Looking forward to fixing that and recording Section 8 most likely tomorrow night.

Righty-o! Here's the corrected Section 7:
https://librivox.org/uploads/icequeen/ludinthemist_07_mirrlees_128kb.mp3
22:00

And here's Section 8:

29:40

I've slightly changed my processing routine to better deal with clipping (which that shouting match between Master Ambrose and Master Nathaniel made exceedingly evident) - if anything strikes you as really different or odd, please do let me know!

Section 7 is PL OK! I'll do my best to finish PLing 8 tonight, but it might be tomorrow before I'm done. I'll keep my ears open for anything odd in the sound.

No hurry, and no worries!

Basically I was finally made aware that clipping exists and that maybe I might want to use the Compressor effect or the Limiter effect to mitigate it, along with some selective de-amplification. I'm trying to use the lightest touch possible, but I'm obviously no expert and don't know what all side-effects to watch out for.

Section 8 is nicely done, as always, and everything sounds normal! I have just a few notes:

- At 22:44, "and he felt he needed his sympathy," you say "and he felt he needed the sympathy"
- At 25:31, "Don't the Honeysuckles consider a moth a stag," you say "Don't the Honeysuckles consider the moth a stag"
- At 29:05, "sputtered Master Nathaniel," I hear "spluttered Master Nathaniel"

I use the Compressor all the time, but I wasn't aware of the Limiter. It looks like it might save me some work, if with the trade-off of an initial learning curve.

Section 8 is corrected and ready for spot PL:
https://librivox.org/uploads/icequeen/ludinthemist_08_mirrlees_128kb.mp3
29:41

And Section 9 is ready too:
https://librivox.org/uploads/icequeen/ludinthemist_09_mirrlees_128kb.mp3
16:22

After more discussion in the plugins thread, I've settled on using Limiter rather than Compressor. So far so good!
