I'd like to thank LibriVox and alg1001 (Amy Gramour) for their reading of The Wendigo by Algernon Blackwood (1869 - 1951).

I'm a musician and I used a portion of the reading in one of my songs. I was looking for some spoken word to go over the back portion of the song. After reviewing several options, this reading of The Wendigo fit in quickly & perfectly. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for all your fantastic reads. I’m 80 with challenged vision, live on my own on a small island off the west coast of Canada and have spent many days listening to you. Familiar with Conrad from my youth, this has been my first exposure to Ford Madox Ford - he’s brilliant - I listened to each book twice - thank you so much!!!

All of Peter's recordings!
Anne, thanks so much for passing this on. I'm very touched. Would you be willing to pass back a note from me, as follows?

"Well, thank you so much for taking the trouble to write to me, which I do very much appreciate. For all its downside, the world wide web has definitely brought us some wonderful benefits, and that you can be sitting on a small island off the west coast of Canada listening to a guy recording old books in Melbourne, Australia is surely one of them. I suffer from glaucoma myself, and am well aware that one day I, too, may be very glad to get hold of audiobooks of old classics myself. Joseph Conrad is an early love of mine, but I only came to Ford Madox Ford much later. I think he's vastly under-appreciated, and am so glad to hear you have enjoyed coming across him. Once again, thank you so much for getting in touch. You've made my day!"

Thank you to Peter Dann for another wonderful reading. I thoroughly enjoyed his version of Joseph Conrad's "Twixt Land and Sea." (PM sent to reader.)

Thanks again!

I want to thank Ritu Aarcee for her excellent reading of An Introduction to Yoga by Annie Besant.   I was greatly impressed by her perfectly clear articulation which not only delighted me but made what could have been a difficult text easier to understand and pleasant to listen to. As a side note, I loved the beauty of her Indian accent, and loved hearing the Sanskrit terms pronounced so accurately. I hope she records more solo projects, especially on Yoga or related subjects on spirituality. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in Yoga psychology and practice.

To philchenevert,

Just wanted to say I really enjoyed your latest completed project, "The Stainless Steel Rat". Very expressive, and caught the essence of the story perfectly.

Cheers.

Dear Mr. Wills,
I have been listening to your reading of Moby Dick for the last few weeks and just completed the last chapter. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you for the many hours and many voices you gave to such a massive project, allowing me as a listener to enter Melville's great tale. It was thoroughly enjoyable! -Jack

Praise received for paradise.camouflage (Andy) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
I absolutely adore your recordings/works. I often only listen to your parts of books because your voice is just so polite.
I first found librivox while listening to A Doll's House and your role as Dr.Rank caught my attention because you were so not like any of the other characters. In a silly way. The play is very dark and has ups and downs with toxic relationships etc. and then there's sweet Dr.Rank. I also really enjoyed your opening of the Subjection of Women.

Praise received for Claica (Clarica) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear Clarica,

Your reading of Eight Cousins by Louisa May Alcott hooked me on both the book and your articulate voice.

In fact, I find everything about your reading—perfect pace, pleasant tone, proper pronunciation, correct emphasis, right feeling, intellligent understanding—so excellent that I rate you among the top 5% of the many Librivox readers I've listened to over the years.

Now, for my request: I implore you to also read aloud the sequel to Eight Cousins—namely, Rose in Bloom.

Yes? Please?

Thank you for doing such a lovely job with Eight Cousins—and for, I hope, sparing me from further agony listening to Rose in Bloom.

A peaceful and productive new year to you,

Susan

PS: I see you enjoy reading poetry; I wish that were my "thing," so I could listen to all of your books!

Praise received for gloriana (Elizabeth Klett) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear Ms. Klett:

I'm just the introduction and Chapter 1 into your reading but I needed to thank you. Happily your LibriVox page shows that you've read a number of books. I'm 84, a retired psychologist and mediator in LA. Cerebral palsy, good luck, books and curiosity got me a full life, 46 years with the love of my life, 3 kids and multiple grandkids. In 2018 I was "TKOd by a BMW" crossing a neighborhood street. 6 months later my daughter brought me home from a Rehab Hospital against medical advice. Muteness and partial paralysis are insignificant disabilities as long as one's head is intact. Nothing is promised or is easy for any of us and my 2018 mishap was a reminder of how much depends on great books read by readers like you. Thanks again.

Dear Ms. Klett,

Thank you for your narration of Life in the Iron Mills by Rebecca Harding Davis.

https://librivox.org/life-in-the-iron-mills-by-rebecca-harding-davis/

I was a pleasure listening to your expressive, well-paced reading, equal in quality to the best narrators of commercially-sold audio books. I listen to at least one audio book per week, most checked out from the public libraries in New York City, some purchased from Downpour.com. I very much appreciate your making this audio book available in the public domain, along with colleagues at Librivox. This generosity is in contrast to that of Amazon's Audible subsidiary, which does not sell licenses to its audio books to public libraries, meaning that people living hand to mouth, like Hugh Wolfe, cannot afford to listen to them. You make -- with your narration -- the kind of world all people deserve.

You might appreciate the Bedford Cultural Editions printing of Ms. Davis's novelette, which I now plan to read. It is available to borrow at the Internet Archive:

https://archive.org/details/lifeinironmills0000davi

It contains a biography of Ms. Davis, and introduction with cultural and historical background information, and several contemporaneous fiction and non-fiction selections under the heading "Cultural Contexts," divided into four categories: "Work and Class," "Social Reform and the Promise of Dawn," "Art and Artists," and "Women and Writing."

Sincerely,

Sean

Praise received for neustar (Bob Neufeld) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Not only was Socialism: Utopian and Scientific (https://librivox.org/socialism-utopian-and-scientific-by-friedrich-engels/) expertly narrated, but Mr. Neufeld's voice fit so well as a stand-in for Friedrich Engels that I could easily imagine I was being read to by the author himself.

Dear Mr. Neufeld,

thank you for your beautiful reading of this Melville's classic!

I'm enjoying it immensely and feel this story's wonderful narrative additionally enlivened to perfection your voice and interpretation!

Thank you once more, with best regards,

Sanjin
