Hello,

I would like to read a Christmas story I found in THE PEARL STORY BOOK - Stories and Legends of Winter, Christmas, and New Year’s Day on the Gutenberg website. The copyright is 1910.

It is chapter 5 of the Christmas Everywhere Section called The Animals’ Christmas Tree.

This is the link to the book:

Thanks,
Stacey

Here is my selection! One of George MacDonald's stories-within-a-story. This is taken from Adela Cathcart, and I have removed the frame narrative, to present just the story that appears within. And for some inexplicable reason, when Adela Cathcart was split into three volumes, the end of this story wound up in the beginning of volume 3.

This record is also good. But I have a question about the author. He is listed in the text under his pseudonym. Is it ok to call his real name in a recording?
Apart of this Sec 29 is PL Ok.
Thank you

Thanks for the PL! If the author is mostly known by the pseudonym, I'd say to use that rather than the real name. If this story is published with a pseudonym but his other works are published with his real name, then we'll use his real name.
If you decide the pseudonym is better, please let me know what it is. :)

He used various pseudonyms as well as his real name. I am not sure it makes sense to use one of them. Then with recording another work - his real name, then another pseudonym... Better to just mention them at his catalogue page. I'd understand if he used one pseudonym for all the children literature he wrote but I don't know anything about this and can't confirm it.

P.S. for me pseudonyms should be like that of Lesya Ukrainka, Mykola Khvylovy, Oleksandr Oles etc. to be mentioned under them.

Oh, I know. Sorry! :( I tried really hard to find just one compete source. This story has been reprinted several times since then without the frame, but I couldn't find any that were clearly PD.

Okay, I'll add those pseudonyms to his database file, but he'll still show up as his real name. Thank you!
