On the assumption that your recording is fine, I will assign 64 to you now.

Hello! May I please claim section #68, "The Constant Tin Soldier"?
Thank you!
Julia
Yes, section 68 is all yours Julia
Hi Phil,
I'm not going to have access to my Shure microphone -- I can still record with the little mic attached to my earbuds, but the quality might be a little off. Let me know if it's still ok that I read it, or if you want to open up that section for another reader. So sorry about that and let me know either way!

Thank you. The file name is correct. The author's name is in place. All's right with the world. PL OK.

At ~3:00 there is a thump and the next couple words are quieter. Perhaps you are using some sort of auto level control when you record? One that takes half a second to recover from a strange sound?? I'm not going to ask you for a re-do - I can hear all the words - but please take a listen to that spot and try to decide what happened there (so you can avoid it in future recordings).

I like your voice for Ram.

Section 12 is PL OK.

Good morning!

The silence at the beginning of the section is too long at over 2 1/2 seconds, it should be no longer than a second. Please trim it down.

At ~2:10 there is a missed edit: you read "He had k-scarcely -- He had scarcely"

Fix up those two spots and upload it again. Then everything should be right.

There are a couple spots where the characters you are reading get pretty excited and loud, but you are careful to not let the levels get quite to the max, so that's OK.

(EDIT: By the way, I measure a different length than what you got - 11:32 vs. 11:50. I'll put the proper final length in the Magic Window once your edits are done.)

Hi!
I was wondering if I could claim #64 The Six Swans? I recently read Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim which reintroduced me to the fairy tale, so it caught my eye!

Thanks

Here's #52, "The Emperor Trojan's Goats' Ears": https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/fairyandwondertales_052_patten_128kb.mp3 (5:48).

There seem to be several variations on this story out there (the Greek Midas with the ears of an ass, and several others with horse or ox ears, and even one with horns). I hadn't seen this one before.

Cheers,
Winnifred

Hello, again!

I think Section 42 is okay now. Figuring out how to remove 1.5 seconds from the beginning and correct the flub in the middle only took an hour. But now I understand how to do these things easily next time.
