Section 04 PL notes:

@00:17: "Promptly at eight o'clock …" read as "Roughly at eight o'clock …"

While this may be a minor issue, it does, IMHO, change the author's intent, especially in regards to the rest of the paragraph describing the attendance failures of one of the Radio Club members.

I'm afraid I'm at a loss to identify what you might have heard. But double-checked the manuscript, then I listened to several different "takes" of the Section 4 reading and every one of them starts out with the word "Promptly."

I will admit there are a couple "oopsies" elsewhere in the reading that can very easily be overlooked. But the first word of the manuscript -- "Promptly" -- just isn't one of them.

Hi Tom,

My apologies. I listened again, a number of times. Through my headphones it sounded like Roughly, but through my laptop speakers, farther away from my ears, it sounded more like Promptly. I guess the two words sound similar to me.
