Barbara et al.

Sections 061, 062, 068, 080

https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/jsbach_255b-voice_schweitzer.mp3
https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/jsbach_259b-voice_schweitzer.mp3
https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/jsbach_290a-voice_schweitzer.mp3
https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/jsbach_316a-voice_schweitzer.mp3

Section 062
jsbach_259b-piano_schweitzer.flac 259 062_259
Straining my comfortable (upper) range
Section 068 jsbach_290a-piano_schweitzer.flac 290 068_290
Fails loudness with Normalization at -16dB and at -17dB ???
Section 080 jsbach_316a-piano_schweitzer.flac 316 080_316
What do I know about a score, but if I tap out the bars with my finger (say, four beats to the bar) I think that the timing on the piano for the last two bars is "off". Nonetheless I matched my voice tempo to the recorded piano tempo, because THAT is what has to be synchronized, correct?

All Sections
: As always, if anyone can spot any kind of error, even to the extent of straining my voice or traffic noise or whatever, please let me know; I am always happy to re-record. My thinking is "if non-music people can spot something wrong, then it is definitely wrong!"

Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris,

Sections 61, 62, 68 and 80 are all PL OK. You synchronised Section 80 perfectly with the piano.

Best,

Barbara

Hi Barbara :birthday:
Well, this IS bad news. Nothing for me to do except plough ahead with 81, 85, 86 and 87 and try to generate an error in there somewhere ...

Don't worry about that. The piano is all REALLY loud - I drop it down before I merge it with the voice.

Hi Mozartjr; just a quick status-check from me: Once Barbara has OKd this afternoon's sung portions 81, 85, 86, 87, I think that I have only 90, 94, 95, 102 to sing, but we are waiting on the music for those four tracks.
Is that correct?
Is there anything I have not done that I ought to have done?
Is there anything I have not done that I could have done?
Thanks, Chris

I could perhaps do a little of the music (it will be computer generated, not recorded actual music), but I know better than to think I'd be able to get them all. We could try advertising in Listeners/Editors Wanted maybe, something like [MUSICIAN(S) WANTED], and then include in the template what would be required. It might sit for a long time, though, without a nibble. So far, that's the best thought I have.
Circling back to this post, I thought I'd give it a whirl. Taught myself enough of museScore to get by, and came up with this for section 57.

You're welcome to say No, if this doesn't meet expectations, but if it's acceptable I'm happy to start nibbling away at the music score between editing. If it's ok, but you'd prefer different instruments, I can swap those out. I struggled a bit figuring out what was appropriate.

Always!

If you were playing this for, say, Sections 90, 94, 95, 102, I could follow it quite easily and wrap those four up this week.
I'm just sayin' ...
I mean, I find whatever it is you have done as easy to follow as the piano.

I'm happy to do it for the piano as well (MuseScore has a selection of instruments :) ) Just waiting on Mozart's go-ahead.

I vote that Section 102 be done with an Aztec Death Whistle. For the rest, anything but percussion. Or Didgeredoo.
Best of luck! Chris
