Since I never heard back about this, I went ahead and made the edits myself.InTheDesert wrote: ↑July 25th, 2022, 5:40 amDannyDyar1 wrote: ↑July 20th, 2022, 5:33 pm https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/cm6_24_mason_128kb.mp3 (14:58)
Section 24 PL Notes:For fastest spot checks, you can copy these notes and change the timestamps to the new time so I know where to check.
- 00:00 The volume of this track is 85.1dB. LV requires the overall volume for the track (measured by ReplayGain - you can try this tool if you want to check the volume) to be between 86-92dB (with 89dB being the ideal). The easiest way to fix this automatically is to use the 'Loudness Normalization' effect (set to -19LUFS) in recent versions of Audacity before exporting the track as an MP3. Another way to fix it would be to use the Amplify effect set to 4dB.
- 00:01 Max 1 second of silence at the start of the track please!
- 00:32 (No change needed - just letting you know) There were a few clicks like this in the recording. Are the mouse clicks or something in the background?
- 14:58 We need 5 exactly seconds of silence at the end of the track (as close as you can make it).

Hello! Bringing up the rear here... I am recording but there is a mess up on the hathitrust site in the copies of several pages of section 29. Two appear illegible, and I believe a few pages are missing (pages 337-338). I have a physical copy of CM's volume VI, would it be ok if I read from that for those pages?

Great question. I'm gonna call in our MC for an answer. Beyond my pay grade.AlongsideMom wrote: ↑October 2nd, 2022, 8:21 am Hello! Bringing up the rear here... Sorry...What do you mean Magic Window is set up? I was just asking bc I know there is a reason why we *must* use the certain public domain sites to read from...but the few pages I mentioned can’t be read on the Babel.hathitrust site, so I am just wanting to see if we can make a teensy exception in which I read from my physical copy...

Haha, he was quoting something I had said early on in the project in order to get my attention. All part of the summoning spell, no need to worry.
As to your question, I would say probably not, unless it came to the last resource. Even then, it's tricky. I will talk to the rest of the admin team and see if we can find a solution. It's possible that someone may be able to locate another PD source that you can use for those pages. That would be the preferred outcome. If not... Well, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'll get back to you!

Actually, I think that we have everything we need in this one text. After looking at it more closely, it looks like we just have a couple of bad pages stuck in, but then good scans immediately following. Look at the page numbers. I'm seeing that page 335 is fine, but then we have two illegible pages. On one of them, the page number is obliterated. The other is page 339. But then, keep scrolling a bit more, and you get to 336, a clean copy. And I think everything after that is fine.AlongsideMom wrote: ↑October 2nd, 2022, 8:21 am Hello! Bringing up the rear here...
