Here's section 7 with the new mic:
https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/unclewiggilysstorybook_07_garis_128kb.mp3
length is 9:36

75 Hz low cut filter on my preamp ON. 2:1 compression above -20 to limit my peaks. Other than that, little processing. I think I'm getting fewer clicky sounds out of my mouth with this setup.

This made me laugh. I've been reading older posts to get more insight into how LibriVox works and the kinds of technical advice given, etc., but...also because these kinds of comments make me smile (even though it wasn't smile-worthy at the time!).

That's the one I would have chosen if this book was PD in India. Alas, it will not be so until 1 January.

Jim, and Phil,

1. I listened and definitely heard "nuts" instead of "knots." That being said, I redid the sentence but am having an awful time suddenly copying and pasting a sentence, going to the offending spot, and replacing it. It constantly tells me there's not enough room for the entry no matter whether I block and copy the first one and try to put it in before the bad line, delete the bad line and replace, etc.

I had no trouble before. Have changes been made, or is there a tutorial I can go through to get over this technical difficulty? I'm glad to make the change, even though I hear "nuts," but have been working on it for a half hour now.

THanks,

Nan

Welcome to LibriVox, Holly!

Congratulations on your first recording. I look forward to hearing many more from you.

This was very well read and I have marked it as PL Okay

I do have just a couple of small technical items that I would like to share with you. When you upload a file, please remember to indicate the running time of the file in your post to the forum. This is used as part of the final checks before a book is "published." Also, try to keep an ear on any silences within the recording. While a gap can be effective between paragraphs, if it is too long, the listeners tend to get antsy. Normally 1.5 — 2.0 seconds should be the maximum. At around 5:00 and 8:13 there were silences a bit longer than that, but not enough to worry about editing.

Keep up the good work!

Jim

Hi Nan

Yes, there are a number of videos that I am sure you will find helpful in the LibriVox Wiki: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Instructional_Videos#More_Editing

If you are still having trouble, I would be willing to work with you in a Zoom session. There is also a monthly Zoom session hosted by our intrepid MetaCoordinator (MC), Phil.

There will be a LibriVox zoom meeting tomorrow. Monday Sept 5th at 11 am central time. Here is the link https://us06web.zoom.us/j/84452418640?pwd=SEhCb1lhWStjejhYSXhYL1VTRHMzQT09 If not, let me know. I won't be hosting, just joining this time. I really recommend you take up Jim on his offer of a personal zoom session. So many questions can be dealt with and lots of information passed along. And it's fun!!!! :D
