Hello,

I have a metallic sound I do not know how to get rid of. I watched videos on notch filter and spectogram. I still haven't a clue. I need assistance for dummies. Please help.

Thank you.

Yes, let's hear a sample. That 'metallic' sound is often caused by a recording being over-processed. Your other recordings sound just fine. Did you alter something? Is it a buzzing sound? (That is often a simple connection problem or electrical interference.)

Dear Tricia and Kevin,

Thank you for responding. Can I post a sample the same way I submit a recording? Or can I send it as an attachment here?

Just upload your sample to the *tests* folder and post the link here. :)

Dear Kevin and Tricia,

Here is my sample: https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/PLM_Sample_08-06-2022.mp3

I should say that the noise is not throughout the recording. Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything further.

Thank you.

I'm not sure I hear any metallic sound, but I do hear a lot of crackling/distortion on the S sounds.

I'm no expert, but I wonder if it's your microphone.

Has this been noise cleaned? It sounds like distortion from excessive use of noise cleaning. The static might be a bad cable or bad mic.
