Thank you for this reading. It is very well read, but your volume is much too low. It is 67.0, and it should be between 86 and 92db (ideally 89db). Please amplify this recording by 20 dB. You will need to be careful of background noise when you do that however, so you should also run noise reduction, after the amplification is done.

For future recordings, please try to increase your volume. Make sure your input gain is all the way up in Audacity (or your recording software) and that the mic gain is also up high enough. If both those are at max, you may need to move closer to your mic.
Sorry about that, I've re-recorded, hopefully, this works better! :) https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/householdtalesbybrothersgrimm_007_grimm_128kb.mp3
Hi Patrick, unfortunately, now it's too loud. Your volume is 93.3 in this new recording. If you can de-amplify by 4dB, that should be perfect.
Are you familiar with the Checker tool? https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/ This lets you check your volume ( and other specs) before you submit the file.
So sorry about that! I'm still new and I think my passing the one-minute test recording was more of a fluke than me getting my specifications right. I've done some further research and learning since than and hopefully this one will be perfect. https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/householdtalesbybrothersgrimm_007_grimm_128kb.mp3

Section 44 PL Notes:
This story is a little too loud (93.9dB). Can you please de-amplify it by about 5 dB.
2:05 - I hear "stood godfather quite in the unusual way." text reads "stood godfather quite in the usual way."
Also, please add 5 seconds of silence at the end.

Section 117 PL notes:
This story is a little too loud (92.7dB). Can you please de-amplify it by about 4 dB.
Also, please add 5 seconds of silence at the end.
Sorry about that! Here are the new ones:

44: https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/householdtalesbybrothersgrimm_044_grimm_128kb.mp3

117: https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/householdtalesbybrothersgrimm_117_grimm_128kb.mp3
Both are now PL OK. And thanks for catching the filename on _044_ and correcting it. :)

Oops. Sorry, Krista, for calling you Phil.
Here they are:
https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/householdtalesbybrothersgrimm_065_grimm_128kb.mp3 14:45
https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/householdtalesbybrothersgrimm_066_grimm_128kb.mp3 3:57

I was wondering what the purpose of the tales was.
The "moral" of 65 appears to be "if you're a King, incest is OK".
And the moral of 66 appears to be "you're fair game if you enter a hare's den".
I guess the former is a tad more concerning to modern sensitivities.

Regards,
Adrian
Nicely read! Story 66 is PL OK

Story 65 - there is a click & repeat at 12:33 near "he contrived, without her noticing it, "
12:41 - click & repeat near "and he had given orders "
Corrected: https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/householdtalesbybrothersgrimm_065_grimm_128kb.mp3 now 14:40
And the next recording: https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/householdtalesbybrothersgrimm_067_grimm_128kb.mp3 8:15

Number 67 has some very indirect ways of telling if a person is a man or a woman, including how they tread on peas.
These are both PL OK

That you for these readings. There are just a few fixes that are needed.

Story 38:

4:08 Missing words "She sits upstairs in her room,"

Story 34:
5:23 - there is a long (5 second) silence here. please reduce it.
8:09 - there is a long (5 second) silence here. please reduce it.
Please add 5 seconds of silence at the end.

Story 94:
Please extend the ending silence to 5 seconds.

Please note that the filename should have 3 digits for the number. So 038, for example. Can you please correct that when you reupload?

Here is the last recording. https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/householdtalesbybrothersgrimm_133_grimm_128kb.mp3
Best,

Very nicely read. Just one small stumble at 8:13 on "they took leave of their princes"

This was very nicely read. There are just a couple of issues that need to be corrected.

The opening silence is too long. please reduce it to 0.5 seconds.

At the end, you say "End of Household Tales by Brothers Grimm, translated by Margaret Hunt". It should be "End of story 35."

Also, the filename should have 3 digits for the number. Please change that to _035_ when you upload your corrections. Thank you.
