I have Kindle for PC, because there are quite a few books that are out of print which I want to read or re-read. However, today, a couple of the books have started text-to-speech as soon as I open them (I've only checked four books out of my Library so far). I assume that this has happened either because I've pressed the relevant hot-key without realising it or it's been triggered by a recent software update. I know this can be switched off with Ctrl-T when I've opened the book, but I can't work out how to switch it off by default, either for individual books or for all of them.

The option to set text-to-speech on/off from the main Kindle Libraray display is greyed out.

Can anyone help, please?
