A name forum that is confusing to me is “Proof Listeners or Editors Wanted.” Clicking on it today shows just 4 topics. With items being recorded everyday worldwide, that is a misleading number.

The announcement above “Proof Listeners…” titled “How to Tell if a Project Has a Dedicated Proof Listener (DPL)” is helpful, but somewhat misleading, as the most recent post shown on the screen is from 2018. A person has to actually go into the announcement to find the link to the Project Status Table. https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Project_Status_Table.

It’s an excellent link to current DPL status, but I think the table link would be better placed near the top of the page, under the first sentence. Rather than:

“The subject line for projects now indicate if a project does not already have someone who has volunteered to listen to all the chapters - a Dedicated Proof Listener or DPL.

All projects which have a DPL look like this: [GENRE/LANGUAGE] Title by Author - mc

For those without a DPL, there should be a tilde at the beginning of the subject line:
~[GENRE/LANGUAGE] Title by Author – mc etc, etc…”

It may be better as:

“The subject line for projects now indicate if a project does not already have someone who has volunteered to listen to all the chapters - a Dedicated Proof Listener or DPL.

An excellent method to see projects without DPLs is via the Project Status Table in the wiki, here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Project_Status_Table
It is updated once a week or so, so it may not be 100% current.

And then continue with

All projects which have a DPL look like this: [GENRE/LANGUAGE] Title by Author - mc

For those without a DPL, there should be a tilde at the beginning of the subject line:
~[GENRE/LANGUAGE] Title by Author – mc etc, etc…

That forum is a place for individual BC's and soloist's to advertise for a DPL or PL. Typically this only happens if no one has volunteered in the project thread. Most projects these days pick up a DPL before they leave the Launchpad or soon thereafter so an ad in the Proof Listeners Wanted thread is not necessary. The number of threads will therefore vary, but there are rarely more than a few at a time. It's more obvious now that we have moved the 1-mjnute tests to their own forum.

I'll add that, although the original post in the “How to Tell if a Project Has a Dedicated Proof Listener (DPL)” topic is from 2009, all the information there is current. The admins can and do update/edit certain important posts to include recent information.
