Looking for FOSS Linguistics software

Everything except LibriVox (yes, this is where knitting gets discussed. Now includes non-LV Volunteers Wanted projects)

I would like to take some completed LibriVox chapters, run them through some linguistics software, and get some analysis statics or graphs on anything relevant such as phonemes.

FOSS on Linux would be preferred. Yes, this is a vague request. I cannot know what I want to look for until I have run the software; it's called a vicious circle.

Have you tried googling - there seem to be a few or do you actually only want to hear from people who are using ?

I found one called SPPAS. I am stuck because I have to manually download wxpython for Linux. I can't see install file in the wxpython folder.

I have managed to install wxpython. SPPAS opens with the GUI! Had to add a path in Linux. Not sure if that is permanent; if not then I might6 have to edit a bash file to keep the path.
