I'm so sorry about that! I really slipped on that one.yourbookvoice wrote: ↑January 6th, 2022, 11:19 pm
Thank you. Also, could you be more specific on what you mean by "much reverb"? We got a new headset from which the background noise was more discernible, so we increased the noise cancellation. Is there something different I should do to improve it in the future?

And, I missed some of the ones you requested.
The reverb is the bit of "hollow" sound that you might hear in your headset. It is by no means pronounced, as when we really get the hollow room or empty barrel sound. We usually don't even mention it here. It was when I was doing some recording for another group that this was pointed out to me, and in fact was told I needed to correct it in order for my recordings to meet their standards.
I'm sure i still have room for improvement, but the "studio" that I thought would come together got nixed. So, like most of us, I make do with what I have. My space, overall, doesn't have terrible acoustics, but I did two simple things that helped a lot. First, I got a cheap microphone stand so I could bring the mic closer to my mouth. That was the biggest thing for me. Then, I hung several blankets in back of me which acts as a bass trap and cuts down on the bouncing sound waves, I could use a few more maybe, but what I have works well enough.
I can only record at night when it is quiet enough. Getting rid of the noisy fridge helped too. And we live in the woods so outside is quiet. Not like the last house on a busy, four-lane main street. The house actually shook with large trucks rumbling by.
