This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page:https://librivox.org/christmas-short-works-collection-2021-by-various/
Special conditionsChristmas 2021 is coming, so get your thinking caps on and join in this year's collection. If you have any doubts about the PD status or the relevance to this collection, just post and ask. All languages welcome
(Summary by )
**In order that all may contribute, 2 contributions only per reader please ***
Deadline: This will be catalogued on 19th December so that it can be enjoyed from then - and all files will need to be PL OK by then to be included so please check your uploaded files before then.
- Find a Christmas-themed selection (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, whatever) in any language.
- Ensure that your text is clearly in the public domain. Gutenberg is a good source. Another possibility is an archive scan which includes clear copyright information. The publication date must be 1925 or earlier. If you are unsure about the copyright status of your selection, you may want to ask for help to verify that it is public domain before you record.
- If you are not in the US, please ensure that you know and abide by the copyright laws in your own country as well as US law (above). Again, if you are unsure, ask.
- Your submission can be as long or short as you need, as long as it is under 70 minutes or so.
- If you'd like to see what has already been included in a previous Christmas Collection, they can all be found here: https://librivox.org/search?q=christmas%20collection&search_form=advanced However, if your selection has been done before, you are still welcome to submit your own recording. I do ask that no duplicates be included in the same collection
- Extra sections will be added to the MW as they become necessary.
- Please feel free to submit suggestions of works that would be a good fit for this collection, if you know of any. I will collect these suggestions in the post below.
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!
