Scottish Reminiscences, by Archibald Geikie (1835 - 1924)

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/scottish-reminisces-by-archibald-geikie/
Archibald Geiki was a geologist in Scotland by profession, and a writer. Most of his writings were professional, but this is a more personal book telling some of the history of Scotland, Archibald's memories, experiences and recollections there as well as stories he was told by people he met. He has a good sense of humour which shines through. (Summary by Jmbau13)

Scots place names
Here’s a helpful guide to pronouncing some names. http://www.rampantscotland.com/features/pronounce.htm. For those in the US, please note that Edinburgh does not rhymewith Pittsburgh. :) :D

I can recommend a session with Billy Connolly if you want to get in the mood. Clean one here. https://youtu.be/suHIvvMLWUw

And Stephen Fry just for fun. https://youtu.be/-AQafwx3h7A

Hi Kerry, I'm glad you think so also! I'll put you down for all 4, if you are sure you can do so many? I imagine you know as I see you have done quite a bit of reading before.

Thank you Jane. With my current schedule, I believe I can handle them, kind of like eating an elephant...one bite at a time... in this case, one word at a time. Take care and be of good cheer. :)
