Hello Friends,
I have fixed all the specific items you pointed out and am trying to figure out how to be sure I have the volume at an acceptable level. The current audio track is between .5 and -.5 on the linear scale in audacity. In the db scale it is at about -7. How do I compare this against the decibel number you gave? If the answer is technical...bring it on! I am happy to learn something new.

I recommend Checker. https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker
The original file was 92.2dB, which is above our ceiling of 92, albeit slightly. The goal is 89 but we can work with 86-92 dB.

Hello!
Personally, I don`t know any better and easiest way than that recommended by Lynnet. I believe you`ll have no problems at using that simple & clever program.
Good luck!

Sec 09 PL notes:
02:55 – repeated ““Your difficulty,” said I,” (p. 44 of the book)
18:10 – “all conspired to impress” – I hear – “comprised” (p. 49 of the book)
The rest is well and the singing is especially good; thank you!

I have uploaded my edited version of section 9. The length is 00:21:30 and the link is
https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/oldchurchclock_09_parkinson_128kb.mp3.
I used the checker to confirm volume and used MP3 Gain to get it to the middle of the acceptable range.
