I couldn't stop myself from starting one more collection of sermons, even though I already have one going. This is another collection of sermons on Old Testament texts, and a new author for us!

(By the way, the MW isn't displaying for me, but I can't see any reason why not. I'm hoping it's just a problem on my computer, though as far as I can tell, this is the only project that's doing that right now. :hmm: )

Fixed the MW issue. It was indeed my error. A typo I didn't notice. Ok, we are open for business! 8-)

Sure, just let me know which chapter(s) you would like to record. It looks like you're still working on your one-minute test, is that right? I'll go ahead and sign you up for this project while you're working on it, but it would be good to get that test done before you actually start recording for this. Good luck! Let me know if you run into problems.

Thank you for this little sample. :) I take it you'd like to read the first sermon, then? I can create your reader page. Just tell me what name you'd like to use in the catalogue. It can be your real name, forum name, or some other pseudonym.

You have probably seen it already, but I notice that your test has a response now. :) I agree that you could benefit from repositioning the microphone. Since you are using a headset, the best position is to have the mic either up near your nose or down by your chin, but not directly in front of your mouth. You want to avoid letting your breath hit it directly. I think I also heard some crackling in the recording that sounds like maybe a loose or wobbly cord? I'm not sure about that, but it might be a good idea to double check that your headset is plugged in tightly and not being jostled. Also, while the volume for your test was just right, this sample is a little bit too quiet.

Your technical settings (aside from volume on your sample) are all perfect, so just let me know what name you'd like to use and which sermon(s) you want to record.

Yes please! Might as well start from the beginning :)
Thank you, the same is fine, for some reason I find it hilarious :p

As far as mic is concerned, yeah I figured this isn't the best setup, i tried a couple more runs, I've ordered a basic Mic and should have that by tomorrow so the quality should significantly improve hopefully haha. I will definitely keep the position in mind thanks, and I noticed the volume on the checker, ill keep it slightly higher next time, been playing around with the settings so i think i have a bit of a better understanding now.

So yeah forum name and 1st sermon to begin is perfect.
Thanks!

Hello,

I would be interested in contributing to this project, I'd like read the second chapter. Like Hello, I am also new to the LibriVox scene and do not have a readers page, if one can be created for me that would be fantastic! I'd like to use my name, mathiew, for my readers page. I have also submitted my 1-minutes test, I have received the go ahead but if you'd like to review it before I begin recording that would be great. I am currently on holidays for a week so i probably won't be able to begin recording until next week. However, I did bring my microphone with me so if i find a quite moment maybe I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

Great work so far! If I understand correctly, you want to re-record it with your new mic to get a better sound quality? I'll hold off on putting it in the MW then. When you submit your next recording, remember to include the duration length along with the link.

Meanwhile, here is your reader page: https://librivox.org/reader/16548 It will list every project you read for, both in-progress and (eventually) completed projects. You can get to this page by clicking your name in the MW of any project you're signed up for. :)

Welcome to LibriVox, Mat! I'd be happy to have you involved with this project! I have created your reader page here: https://librivox.org/reader/16549 And of course the same goes for you as I said to Hello: it will list all current and past projects and you can click on your name in the MW to get there!

Enjoy your vacation, and don't worry about the delay. As you can see in the first post, you have two months to submit before we start to get antsy.
