I had the original, but could not undo the noise reduction, so I recorded chapter 2 anew and re-uploaded it:

Thank You!Rapunzelina wrote: ↑June 11th, 2021, 11:26 am Section 2 is PL OK!I don't think noise reduction did any significant difference, so you may skip it to make editing simpler. Sorry to have put you through unnecessary efforts, but I'll take comfort in the fact that you learnt something new

Also thanks a lot for the detailed steps for noise reduction, it certainly will be very useful sometimes.

hi everyone, I was wondering how people are pronouncing "Saxe." I know that it becomes short for Saxlehner, I would also like know how everyone is saying that as well i.e.
"And Saxlehner, with his remarkable invention". thank you

Both Michael and I pronounced “Saxe.” as “sax” (saxophone). We pronounced Saxlehner slightly differently regarding the first e, but that’s totally OK, listeners would have no problem to recognize both are the same names.

As I see, you have to take the 1-minute test first, as we all did when we started volunteering on LibriVox. Here is the link to the test:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test
As soon as you get Ok from LibriVox, post here a link, so that we can assign you to chapter 7.

See you soon!

Both Michael and I pronounced “Saxe.” as “sax” (saxophone). We pronounced Saxlehner slightly differently regarding the first e, but that’s totally OK, listeners would have no problem to recognize both are the same names. It would be optimal if you happen to know someone with this name, then pronounce it as he/she tells you.
In this case, please also let us know, we’d be very grateful.

If not, you can consider saying “sax-lean-ner” or “sax-lane-ner”.
