This is now PL OK - thanks for doing those fixes! Just a note for the future - the word is Footnote not FootnoteS. The word footnote is single not plural.
I am going to mark this PL OK as you got all the Footnote and End Footnote sayings in the correct position. For the future the words are "End Footnote" NOT "End of Footnote". The "of" is an extra word that is not standard or needed.Lmnei wrote: ↑May 31st, 2021, 12:29 pm Hi Allan -
Here is your feedback on Section 43 -
Again, excellent reading with no mistakes and very pleasant to listen to! Just a couple of housekeeping issues to keep all the recordings the same -

4:20.5 – Please add “End Footnote”
4:50 – Please add “Footnote Faery Queen, book VI, canto ii End Footnote”
5:23.5 – 5:27 – please remove Faery Queen, book VI, canto ii

I'll get to work!Katgirl576 wrote: ↑June 4th, 2021, 6:00 pmThanks so much for the compliments and feedback! I had listened to someone else's recording to hear whether they were saying footnotes or not and I guess it just happened that the person said "footnotes" directly after it. I'll get to work on the changes!Lmnei wrote: ↑June 4th, 2021, 5:33 pm Hi Heather!
I finally got through all your Chapters - you are a VERY good and smooth reader - it is a pleasure to listen to your work! Here is your PL feedback - mostly it is just putting the Footnotes where they belong so it is not confusing to the reader.
Has someone told you that when you edit your recordings it is best to work from the bottom of a Chapter's footnotes to the top? That way the time stamps that are provided do not change. If you go from the top down it can get difficult to find the place to edit as you have changed things prior to the time stamp and thus the time stamp provided now is not accurate. Please let me know if you have any questions - this feedback should be fairly quick to edit.
Section 23
0:56 – heard 71/2 duckets – a “d” in English currency is actually “pence” so this should be 7 ½ pence
2:11 – heard “Thou hearest neither this nor that” should be “Thou hearest neither that nor this” (you reversed this and that)
2:41 – heard “thou” – not in sentence – please remove
10:59 – heard “spoken” should be “spoke”
Section 50
6:48.5 at the end of “peril of drowning” please move the footnote spoken at 7:02 to this spot. It will make more sense here.
9:56.5 heard singuled should be “sing ULTS”
9:58 – more footnote from 10:09 (sobs) to after singults please
10:09 – now the footnote for Colin Clout’s…. should be right after “wrong?” without extra silence.
12:54 – after carged please insert the footnote at 13:43.5 – 13:50
14:49 – after Armada’s please insert the footnote at 15:03.5 to 15:09.5
14:59.5 – after Armada’s please insert the footnote at 15:10 to 15:15.5
17:56.5 – missing “of war” in men of war to perform…
19:35 – heard “above” should be aboard
23: 23:15 - after star please insert the footnote at 24:24 to 24:27 for Gervase 15 - after star please insert the footnote at 24:24 to 24:27 for Gervase…
24:24 – now the footnote for Linschoten’s…. should be right after “him.” without extra silence.
25:09 – heard “hot” should be “shot”
Please add a second of silence to the end of the recording.
Section 51
4:12 – after withered please insert the footnote at 4:15 – 4:19 (Raleigh’s Discovery…)

9:38 – after “judge..” please insert the footnote at 10:01.5 – 10:04.5

Heather
Hello! Here is my edited section 64 (15:34): https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/englishlitboysandgirls_64_marshall_128kb.mp3. Also, I was wondering if I could claim section 63: Swift - "The Journal to Stella"? Thank you!Lmnei wrote: ↑June 4th, 2021, 7:42 pm Caden -
Last one and I am all caught up! Yipee!
Here is your feedback on Section 64 - the volume is just over 86 dB which is right on the border of what we accept. The volume jumps around in your recording - if you can try increasing the volume in the sections that are quiet that would be great so you can get closer to our goal of 89 dB.
0:48 – 1:17 – please noise clean this section
5:57 – missing “left” in “left leg”
9:43 – please remove a second of silence
10:29 – 10:33 – please noise clean this section
12:20 – please re-record the word “noise” right now it sounds like “noi”
13:55 – please clip the swallow noise
Please ensure there are 5 seconds of silence at the end of the recording.
Lynda
Yes.Also, I was wondering if I could claim section 63: Swift - "The Journal to Stella"? Thank you!

That is fine. But note that Chapter 69 is The End of the Journey. I put you in for 68 Days of Struggle. Let me know if that is now what youwish.Kalamareader wrote: ↑June 5th, 2021, 5:30 pm Hi,
I would like to claim Chapter 69: Johnson-Days of Struggle.
Thanks,
Wayne
EDIT: Please ignore the following text. I was confused and thought you were DPL. tsk, tsk. Kalamareader, would you be so kind as to explain to this reader how footnotes and asterisks are handled in this project? I can't find it in the first post. Then as a big favor, please amend the first post of this project to explain the same things so everyone is on the same page? If you don't wish to do this, just send me a PM explaining it to me and i will amend the first post. This seems to be a reoccurring problem. thanks.LangeM wrote: ↑June 6th, 2021, 3:09 pm Howdie,
I have questions regarding Chapter 70, Goldsmith.
3rd para: re the text in quotes, should I say quote at the beginning and unquote at the end of "A man he was to all ....." to differentiate this from the rest of the narrative.
14th para: same ? as above re "Yet would the village praise...? And also, This poem has an asterisk which connects to *The Traveler. Do I read "The Traveler" as is or do I add anything like "from the Traveler"?
3rd para: any hints on the pronunciation of "Pallas"
4th para: any hints on the pronunciation of "Lissoy"
Thanks so much. M
Phil,
No problem. Please remind me to pL this for you if it looks like Ihave forgottenKalamareader wrote: ↑June 6th, 2021, 3:32 pmPhil,
