Hi - I'm new to the site. Could someone please give me feedback on my test file? Thank you!

Hi Laurie

I reviewed your test sample and some changes are needed. LibriVox requires audio that is 128kb constant bit rate, mono, and between 86db and 92db, preferably 89-90. Your sample is too soft at 83db.

First, try raising the recording volume about 6db. You didn't provide any info on your equipment, but there may be a gain control on your mic. If not, raise the recording volume in Audacity. You can also adjust the volume before exporting your file from Audacity Adjust the volume level before exporting by going to Filters>Amplify, select the whole file and enter 6db.

You can verify your audio yourself by downloading the free Checker app: https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/

Please record a new test with the same file name and post it as a reply. I’ll return and review it for you. Be sure to upload it to the "tests - tests" folder in the uploader pull-down menu.

Hi sjmarky
Thanks for taking the time to review and comment. I made a new file and it passed with Checker. Can you please take a look?

Sounds great and meets all the specs. You are good-to-go. Happy narrating!
