This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/worker-classification-by-jon-shimabukuro/
A brief summary of the standards for classifying workers as either employees or independent contractors under various federal labor laws and common-law tests. (Summary by Joanne Turner)
Source text (please read only from this text!): https://crsreports.congress.gov/product/pdf/R/R46765

Target completion date: 2021-07-00

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Joanne,
The admins have some concern about the PD status of the table at the end (with state statutes). Most states statutes are subject to copyright. The rest of this publication is fine to record for LV.

All good except the filename. Filenames, I understand, should not use capital letters.

I did not know that! I think I've always used capital letters in file names (if we're talking about section names?). Happy to change them if that's what's required!

In the filenames that are uploaded. The titles and notes may have capitals.

I know it's a small thing, but it makes the Checker program cough.

Can't have that! I've renamed the first file without a capital letter and reposted it, and have posted the second section as well (no caps).

Thanks much for listening,

Joanne
