Thanks! I'll put you in the MW.CassiopeiaSparks wrote: ↑March 19th, 2021, 12:47 am If there's no reason I shouldn't, I'd love to take the lone ranger section (Sandy Tyrell).
Thanks for your help.
My main advice is: don't sweat it too much! Feel free to do her voice with as little accent as you'd like (or as much). Her exasperation is more important (in my opinion) than her age. If you want to make her sound a bit older you might want to try dropping your register a little or being a little "gruff". In LibriVox we're often not the age (or even gender) that the role seems to require. Have fun and I'm sure you'll do just fine.Generoushorse wrote: ↑March 20th, 2021, 7:55 pm Everytime I record myself as Clara, my voice somehow doesn't feel right for the part. The script has her sometimes drop her 'H's, and other time she says her "h"s. This causes me to inconsistently give her a jarringly unrealistic cockney accent. Clara seems to be an older woman; she's on her second career and not too happy about it (thought she's trying very hard to keep up a good face for her employers.) My voice, on the other hand, is young and youthful, and though I've been researching techniques I can't seem to get her voice to sound "just right."
I suppose I'm asking for an extension? Since my first month is almost up...
Any advise? Tip? Am I looking into this too much?
Thanks for the corrections. All the lines are right, but I'll need you to cut and paste two of them into the right spots. It's tricky doing corrections with times because the times change due to the earlier corrections. A trick I've learned is to make the corrections starting from the end of the act--that way the times still work. Once these two corrections are done the file will be perfect:neecheelok70 wrote: ↑March 18th, 2021, 7:08 am I am a bit embarrassed not to have understood down R for down right. Anyway, here is the corrected file. Thanks for your help, Wendy.
