Hello,

I received feedback for my 1 minute test and got the go-ahead to begin recording! I completed my assigned reading:

https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/anthologyofmassachusettspoets_89_braithwaite_128kb.mp3. The recording length is 3:22.

I would like to be credited with my pseudo-name, Joana Nadra, and if it is possible to include my blogsite (https://chemicallyengineeredhomemaker.blogspot.com/), I'd appreciate it.

If there is anything else I can improve upon, please let me know.

Thank you!

Oh, my, this is so good!
Your expressive reading of this poem really captures the New England spirit!

Everything is perfect except the the ending silence is a bit too long. Not critical, but we like to keep it closer to 5 seconds at the end. So if you cold clip of about a second and a half then upload again, we'll be golden.

I hope we will here a lot more of your fine voice and superb reading here on LibriVox.

Thank you for the compliment!!! It may help that my Massachusetts sea-faring blood does, in fact, go back to the Mayflower...I come by it honestly :D
I'll get the file abbreviated and upload again shortly.

Hello again--
Here is my 2nd upload of #15, with about a second of silence removed from the end. It should now measure about 2:39. Let me know if any further adjustments are needed!

Perfect!
Thank you.

Glad to hear of your heritage.

The few years we spent on Cape Cod were good ones, though we were mere "wash ashores," although my aunt did trace our ancestry back to the Coffin family who once owned most of Nantucket Island, and one of the Mayflower passengers. So, it's possible our ancestors knew each other!

My wife and I have spent a good deal of our time in New England, although I'm originally from Oregon and she from Ohio.

Actually the audio quality on this is not bad at all. :) And your reading is superb, so I'm glad you're taking another poem. So, this one is PL OK and I have you in for Section 42.

Here is section 42.
Length of recording is 3:31.33 (I think I wrote the length of time wrong on my last post for section 17 sorry)

Well, the reading is just fine!
Just a couple of details. The ending silence is only three seconds, and we like to have it closer to five, and then there is a thump right at the end that you can cut out.

You also have a mistake in the file name -- the author is left out. It is best just to copy and paste from the format given so it is exact. And, now that I take a look, your sections 17 is also incorrect having omitted poets from the title. We can correct these on the backend, but as long as you need to upload 42 again, please correct the file name, and if you can correct 17 as well and upload, it would be helpful.

Don't let these little details discourage you though. It is you good reading that is important, and I hope we'll hear much more of you here on LibriVox!

OK thank you for telling me that. I will fix it. As for the author in the title, so it shouldn't be "Braithwaite" but rather the author of the specific poem? I wrote "Braithwaite" for section 17 but I guess for section 42 I didn't write any author- sorry about that.
