Hi Betty, Thanks for this vivid description of the celebration of Saint San Gennaro's day in Naples. You always find such interesting places for your virtual visits!

For me, anyway, there was also an encounter with a new word "carous." "There are ancient carous hill towns, the color of old bones..."

Per the Oxford Companion to Ships and the Sea, a carous is "a sort of gallery or bridge, pivoted in the centre and fitted in ancient warships, such as galleys, as a means of boarding an enemy. On forcing a way alongside an enemy it was hoisted up by a tackle and swung round until it projected over, or into, the enemy vessel, forming a means of access for boarders. Did you get any sense of his meaning?

Hi randyj, 74:21 will be ok. We generally consider 74 minutes to be the max, but the 21 seconds over isn't enough to be worried about. Looking forward to your recording.
