Right! Thanks for your patience. Also, I wondered if you needed help with listening for the plays. Didn't I use to help you there?
what plays do you mean ?neecheelok70 wrote: ↑February 12th, 2021, 1:05 pmAlso, I wondered if you needed help with listening for the plays. Didn't I use to help you there?

I don't know really. But I remember listening to some plays or parts of plays and doing the PL ok thing. You would inform me when to listen. But not a big deal. I was just curious.
ah I think you mean the few plays we had in the World Story project maybe ? When I did the editing you did the final PL. Well this time there are no plays in that particular project (obviously LOL)neecheelok70 wrote: ↑February 12th, 2021, 1:10 pm I don't know really. But I'll give you a call when I need any help. Thanks !!!

Here is Section 1:

Jim
There is quotation between Silver Palace ladies and the Hans thing, which I left out because it seemed to have more to do with Section 2 than Section 1. I can fix if I have erred, of course.

the sisters were not really lucky with their husbands but well, they were not the nicest people around either, so maybe sympathy is a bit misplaced an interesting story nevertheless, I liked it.neecheelok70 wrote: ↑February 21st, 2021, 1:12 pmHere is Section 1: https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/rover0107_1_various_128kb.mp3

A few comments though:
> at 26:21: (p. 99) stumble and repeat can be cut: "and he still a ba..." – "and he" is double and there is a loud breathing in the clipped exclamation "ba..." (I suppose he means "bachelor" in the context)
> at 26:42: (p. 99) between "knowest thou ought of that" and "listen" there is a strange word which I cannot make out really. I think it can be cut. The --- only shows she is trailing off her comment, no need to insert a word here
> at 28:50: (p. 99) "Tis an inevitable chance – the first statute in Magna Charta – an everlasting act of parliament, all must die." – indeed this is a strange ending, but I think we should include it in here, as the sisters are hoping for the death of their husbands. I think maybe the proverb is a standalone (the double lines are a hint), but it's too short for a single section, so let's tack it onto the first section. Sorry for the confusion
Thanks

Those odd noises and loud breathing were my attempts to deal with blank lines. But in these cases you are saying they can be left out essentially. Works for me. And I included the quotation that follows the story. I hope I have got this all straight. Thanks. Jim

ah yes, I think in this case it's really that the speaker is cut short, one can understand this from the text.neecheelok70 wrote: ↑February 22nd, 2021, 6:56 amThose odd noises and loud breathing were my attempts to deal with blank lines. It's PL ok now thanks

Hello Sonia,

what a cool story ! And not easy to narrate because of the Irish dialect in some speeches. But you did it extremely well, thank you, April. I enjoyed the listen.adr6090 wrote: ↑February 24th, 2021, 11:34 amhttps://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/rover0107_04_various_128kb.mp3 Here is my contribution for this magazine.
I have two small corrections to add though:
> at 1:26: (p. 107) "and damn the papists" – I hear "and of the papists", but I may be mistaken
> at 16:56-17:01: (p. 109) repeat "if you met with such an accident as that in your gullet" and "scratch it" after that. Can be cut
> oh and could you correct the filename as well, to include only one-digit-numbers: "4" instead of "04"
thanks
Sonia
