So I recorded section 60 and did some editing. I will be the first to admit that it is not very good, being my first recording, but I am just wondering if it is good enough. I think I took it to fast, and there are some words that I draw out or hesitate. I am happy to do further editing to improve it more, or completely re-record the section. Let me know. I appreciate any and all constructive criticism.
I also realized that I forgot the end of chapter announcement, so I will record that, and add it on, then re-upload, so that will be on there soon.
Welcome to LibriVox, and Congratulations! This is PL OK!magejlewis wrote: ↑January 25th, 2021, 9:35 pm Okay, so here is the recording with the end of chapter note included

It passed the checker at 89.8 db and runs at 13:55
I enjoyed listening, and found myself immersed in the happenings of the narrative.
Since you asked for constructive criticism, I do have a few suggestions.
*I noticed some mouth noises and 'popping p'/ 'hissing s' sounds. You might benefit from experimenting a little with mic placement, putting it a little to one side to avoid 'hitting' it as directly when you speak. The other thing that could help is to make sure you drink plenty of water or tea during the recording process to keep your mouth wet.
*End silence should be around 5 seconds, this one is a tad on the short side at 4.2 sec (but OK to leave as is for this time).
I don't know what you've already experimented with, but I thought I'd throw out these suggestions in case they might be helpful for future recordings. I know when I recorded my first file I forgot all about drinking water through the excitement of finally recording something! In any case, this file is definitely a keeper! My advice: Don't stress about perfection for now, but rather have fun recording and allow experience to bring it gradually over time. You'll do just fine here!
