Hi, thanks for getting back to me and sorry about the delay! I managed to get it done. A bit nervous as it's my first recording! I've definitely made a few mistakes and forgot about the clapping or shouting afterwards, so I'm sorry about that. I've also been reading it rather slowly maybe. Looking forward to any suggestions!

I’ve seen this story listed in various collections for years but this was the first time I read/listened to it!
You read very well, good pace and nice emoting in the dialogue.
General notes: You have a quite high level of ambient background noise (“hiss” or fuzzy noise). You will want to run noise cleaning on your recording. If you are not sue how, check out tutorials here:

Also you have pretty frequent background noises throughout, sounds like thumps or taps and papers shuffling. Microphones can be very sensitive and pick up a lot of movement noises or bumps to the table or your setup. You want to sit as still as you can as you are reading, and try to avoid using paper printouts, or if you do, stop reading completely for a second when you have to change pages, so it’s easy to trim the sound out when you edit. You can also see if turning down the recording volume a little helps it pick up less background noises, and sitting back a bit from the microphone.

2:21 stumble/repeat on “fertilizer”
3:51 noise
5:25 stumble “fanciful sobriquets”
5:28 loud background noise (item dropping or tapping)

9:11 stumble
10:26 stumble/repeat
14:05 stumble
15:35 stumble
15:52 loud thump
16:22 stumble
16:38 stumble
It seems like a lot but you will get the hang of it and editing will go quickly. If you need help on editing, especially cutting out or replacing sections of audio, check out the Newbie Guide to Recording, linked in the first post for this project.
Also, when you have a number of edits to make, like in this list, start from the last one and work backwards through the list—that way the time stamps stay the same.
