Could I have sections 60 and 61? This is my first recording, so I don't want to take more than I can handle. You can put my recordings under the name Mason Lewis.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Optional PL notes (Just listen to the parts I mention, and post here if you're OK with the spots as they are.)Judges4 wrote: ↑January 14th, 2021, 11:15 pm Section 26, ready for PL.

16:24
~7:48 slight stumble, "Leviticus"
~9:21 longish pause between paragraphs
I also noticed that you have a bit of clipping on this file. I don't know if your mic was set differently than the other files, or if you had to amplify post recording? I don't hear distortion to the sound, and the volume is fine, so you don't need to do anything about it here. If ever you need to amplify and it threatens to clip, I would suggest first running 'Compressor' (found under 'Effect' in Audacity) with the boxes at the bottom unselected. That will bring your peaks down and allow safe amplification. Hope that makes sense!

Thank you for your interest in this project!magejlewis wrote: ↑January 21st, 2021, 10:29 am Could I have sections 60 and 61? This is my first recording, so I don't want to take more than I can handle. You can put my recordings under the name Mason Lewis.

We do, however, request that all new readers first complete short test recording to check out technical specifications and any other issues before taking on a longer recording for an actual project. I suggest you read our Newbie Guide to Recording https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording as well. You will find the instructions for completing that preliminary recording in section two.
Once you have an "OK" on that, feel free to record these sections. I suggest doing one then waiting for you PL (proof listening) report just in case there are any issues that need to be addressed.

How should we introduce chapters in book 10? Should we say the part name as well, so that we don't confuse the chapters in that book that have the same number?
For example section 60 is Book X Part II chapter I.

Section 60 is a bit different since it introduces a section so it should be "Book 10, Part 2, Period of Mutual Alliance, and Hostility to Syria. Chapter 1 Accession of Ahab—Era of Elijahmagejlewis wrote: ↑January 22nd, 2021, 9:52 am How should we introduce chapters in book 10? For example section 60 is Book X Part II chapter I.
Subsequent sections can be Book 10, Part 2, [Chapter Title]
It is a confusing structure and I think I did not make it clear enough.
The most important things is to get the section numbers correct at the beginning and end.
Thanks so much for checking!
