Here is Section 23. Duration 21:03
Life in the house of Euler - ugh!
Thank you, Joshua!
One little note: Richard Strauss @ 13:30 - the "ch" in the German "Richard" sounds differently. Russian does a good job spelling it "Рихард" :-)

Yes! I realized after I submitted it that I mispronounced Richard. I'm going to fix this.

alily wrote: January 8th, 2021, 7:15 am hello there, i've read parts 27 and 28 and pasted the links below
can't wait for them to be collected and reviewed together! :D

https://librivox.org/uploads/covers/jeanchristophevol1_27_rolland_128kb.mp3 (DURATION 10:33)

Welcome to the project, Lysa, and thank you for the quick recording!
I'll listen as soon as I can, but I see problems right away.
1. Sec. 27 is too quiet, and 28 too loud. The volume should be 89 +/- 3 dB.
2. The speed of 400 words/min for sec.27 looks way too fast, and 900 wpm for 28 not humanly possible.
Are you sure you've narrated the sections in full?
Sorry for the late notice, but I've just noticed that the formatting for the 2 links isn't quite right!

Please refer to the first post in the thread.
It should look something like "https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/jeanchristophevol1_XX_rolland_128kb.mp3" instead.

Alily, could you upload your corrected recordings to the new links respectively? Thanks!
Cheers,
Yuqing :D

hello Chulsky
sorry for the inconvinience, but i'm going to need to step down from this reading, as i have too many things going on at the moment
and (please don't judge me for this) but i don't even have this book on me. i've searched for an online copy and the sections are divided all weird and it just takes too long recording and editing for the book

i'm really sorry, i hope you find more people who are better reading than me

Hi Yuqing, I would now like to claim 29-36, thereby completing Youth II and Youth III. Please let me know if that's ok. Thank you. --Joshua

Given our other reader's departure from this project, I offer to also claim Sections 27 & 28. I would have gladly offered her assistance, had she reached out, but it looks like she's no longer interested.

No problem, Lysa, no one would be judging you. Everyone has some confusion period at the beginning. 8-)
Join a dramatic reading project with a small part, and you would get a grip on the process. It's a lot of fun! :)
Hope to work with you again some day.

No worries, Lysa! We're all volunteers who started off as newbies.

Mark has given some really solid advice. Hope you'll find it useful!
Cheers,
Yuqing :D

Sure. Thanks for helping out, Joshua!
I'll enter your name beside those sections immediately.
