Yes, you may. Do a search on Pride and Prejudice, and you'll see there are 6 versions in the catalog, with another in progress.
PLEASE do your 1-minute test first, and PLEASE do at least a section or two in group projects before launching a solo project. This is to get your tech settings all straightened out and also to get your feet wet with recording - get a feel for how much work it is, and to adjust your technique so you're happy with your first finished solo.
