Hi Linny,

Here's the second giant story I promised.
This one's called "A Son Of Anak" and comes from the same source for my first reading, "A Book Of Giants: Tales of Very Tall Men of Myth, Legend, History, and Science"
by Henry Wysham Lanier
Running time for this one is 14:18

Here's the info for my first upload.
"Og King Of Bashan" from "A Book Of Giants: Tales of Very Tall Men of Myth, Legend, History, and Science"
by Henry Wysham Lanier
https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/48763
https://librivox.org/uploads/linny/mlaw006_bookofgiants_lanier_dh_128kb.mp3
(11:01) running time
My name is Daryl Hanson

Thanks, hope you like it.
That was a rather fascinating fleshing out and convergence of two tales I'm familiar with! I had never heard of a giant surviving the biblical flood. Poor unicorn.

Your recording is really great!

Before we give the section a thumbs-up, though, we need to tweak the file name. There are enough sections still open in the collection, that it's very possible someone else might record another chapter from this book. Can you rename the file so that bookofgiants is changed to a short indication of the name for Og's story? Thanks so much. :)

PL OK

Thanks again, Colleen! Very well done. :) (it doesn't need to be changed here, but watch out that your end silences don't exceed 5 seconds)

haha! Love your different voices!

A Son of Anak is PL OK

(be careful with your recordings that the ending silence doesn't exceed 5 seconds. Don't worry about adjusting this one, though)

Thanks for contributing! Hope to see you back in a future collection.

Hi Linny (or is it Lynnette?),

I was wondering about the file names. When I uploaded "A Son of Anak" I came across the possibility of having the same name as the Og story, so that's why I named it differently. I guess it makes sense if you're doing a work with different stories in it to use the chapter name rather than the book name. The latter would obviously only be appropriate for a project where each chapter is from the same work. I guess I just didn't think far enough ahead. Won't happen again.

Anyway, here's the new link: https://librivox.org/uploads/linny/mlaw006_ogkingbashan_lanier_dh_128kb.mp3
Is there anything else with the reading that needs to be adjusted?

Have a great day!

I am Lynette, and our MC is Linny (for Linette). We've worked together a few times and get a chuckle out of our name similarities. :)

That was fast! Thanks for editing the file name, Daryl. Og King of Bashan is PL OK

Hi there, thank you, the Stolen Wine was another fun one. I notice that it's listed in the MW as "Odin and the All-Wise Giant" instead of Stolen Wine.

It's funny, cause I've actually recorded the first four sections - the Beginning to Odin at the All Wise Giant (about 16 minutes) and was about to edit them and send them over. Does that work? Both to record again (third time) and to merge several short sections of the book? Such great stories!

Merging those sections together from that source is absolutely fine, yes. They are pretty short, and clearly contribute to a unified story. We do need to wait for Collection 7 for that, though. Having been strict in the past regarding the 2-sections-per-reader rule, I need to stay consistent with that. These collections never sit for long, though!
