A Gallery of Children by A. A. Milne (1882 - 1956).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/a-gallery-of-children-by-a-a-milne/

Volunteers outside the USA: A.A. Milne died in 1956. The author's work is still protected by copyright in places like Europe, where copyright is author's death plus 70 years, Australia (author's death plus 70 years for authors who died after 1955), UNLESS the rule of shorter term applies.
12 fantasy stories for children - to be expanded before cataloging (Summary by cadastra)
  1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
  2. New to recording? Before you begin recording for a project, we ask that you complete a 1-Minute Test. Please also check out the Newbie Guide to Recording.
  3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
  4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=umn.31951001613575r&view=1up&seq=1 PL Level: Standard
  5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below). If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I will be the BC and DPL for this short collection of children's stories by esteemed children's book author A. A. Milne. This will be version 1 for the catalog, as the book just entered PD today. If you are new to recording, please make sure you complete your 1-Minute Test before recording a section. Thank you!

Welcome to LibriVox! I will assign Section 12 to you in the Magic Window. What name would you like your recordings to be cataloged under? You can use your real name, LibriVox username, a pseudonym, or something else entirely. Also, just a reminder that since you are reading the last section of the book, your outro should be as follows: "End of Section 12. End of A Gallery of Children, by A. A. Milne." This is so that listeners understand that the book is finished. Thank you, and please let me know if you have any questions!

Oh, I am so sorry, so sad, I just realised that I can't because i am in GB, not in the U.S., and here AA Milne is not in public domain yet.
This is what it says in the forum under public domain:

It is the responsibility of each reader and listener to determine whether a particular text is public domain in the country in which he or she resides, and to comply with local copyright laws in working on or listening to LibriVox project files.

Do I understand this right?

Hi,
Can I claim the Section 1 and Section 3 please.
If Section 2 gets re-opened, I can claim that too.

Thanks.

Oh no! Yes, you are correct. All works by A.A. Milne are not in the PD yet due to the life plus 70 years law.
