Bummer! I have one cataloging tonight, I thought it would make it in for November. Oh well, December works for me!

I think it is midnight PST. Servers are in California.

Oh dear! If only I had finished PLing that last section on Saturday, the note may have been fixed and the project cataloged by now...

Hmm. Checking this morning, we're down one - at 96.

I assume someone temporarily removed the "cataloged" status from a project (cataloging error that needs fixing, something like that).

If anyone is curious, I calculated the number of active projects (those in the database that are [not] marked as On Hold or Abandoned - so they're Open, Fully Subscribed, Proof Listening, or in Validation). There are 640 of them.

That's remarkable. You say you did not include On Hold or Abandoned?

Yes, sorry - typo. That's just active projects, not including those marked abandoned and on hold.

In case you missed it...

During December, LibriVox volunteers completed 131 projects, bringing us to 1336 total projects for 2020. We blew the old record (1083 in 2013) by over 250 projects!

Here are the detailed stats:

Total number of projects 15516
Number of completed projects 14832
Number of completed non-English projects 1905
Total number of languages 100
Number of languages with a completed work 44
Number of completed solo projects 7897
Number of readers 10912
...who have completed something 10664

We cataloged 69 dramatic works this year, blowing the 2012 highest total of 65.

I'm sure there are other cool stats; feel free to dig, calculate, and post them.

Next round number to watch for, at least from my point of view, is 2000 works in a language-other-than-English.

But if I were to guess? Knowing what LVers are like when there's a neat number to reach, I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen. Still it would take 1168, which would be second only to the 2020 record. And none of us want more lockdown. So I won't guess.

Yes, but if even a fraction of the people who joined during lockdown get addicted, as Todd always warns might happen, then we'll still have a quite sizable pool of volunteers and contributors.
