Her are the first 3 parts of my section:

https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/thousandnightsandanight12_32_anonymous_128kb.mp3 (22:37)
https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/thousandnightsandanight12_33_anonymous_128kb.mp3 (25:52)
https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/thousandnightsandanight12_34_anonymous_128kb.mp3 (23:13)

I'm still making my way through the rest of the story, but I thought I would get these ones up for PL since they were done.

All good - that's PL OK. I sometimes get caught by how differently Americans and Brits pronounce some words!
Paul,
I just noticed the above comment (but, pray, have long noticed how most Librivox readers sound "funny" in a British sort of way) and invite you (and other PL's) to...uh...correct me (if only by way of comment or suggestion) in any "colonist" pronunciations so I can at least consider your suggestion. I certainly don't want to come off as one of those (seemingly) many purveyors of "fake" British accents (done in an attempt to create an aura of sophistication I guess) but I am open to suggestion and often modify pronunciations to suit. I actually lived in Canada for several years, and though that's not exactly British, it was slightly different from Yankspeak, with slightly more British influence, and I of course picked right up on a lot of it (if only to fit in). So will certainly LISTEN to commentary in that regard. Glad you mentioned it. This particular book has been a bit of a pronunciation challenge, that's for sure.

Attached is section 40, runtime 19:29

I would also like to volunteer for section 51, Singer and the Druggist. (I'll take your word on it, but that section (up to the "Straparola's Version) seems like less than 4000 words just by paging through, but I'll have a better idea once recorded.)
Thanks,
Brize

And done... Finally... Is it wrong to be thoroughly glad that you've finally finished a part that you chose and then it turned out to be so much harder than you expected? When i mentioned it to some friends they asked if it was the Arabic that made it hard and I had to say no, while it wasn't easy, I found the old English so much harder and they just laughed and asked why because that was my thing (I've always enjoyed a good bit of Shakespeare or Chaucer...) But I've never had to recite any!

Anyway, my last two parts are ready for PLing.

Part 37: https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/thousandnightsandanight12_37_anonymous_128kb.mp3 (22:50)
Part 38: https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/thousandnightsandanight12_38_anonymous_128kb.mp3 (10:23)

Thanks,
Annie

Annie
Sections 32 and 34 are PL OK.

There are a small number of distracting stumbles in section 33 that it would be great if you could fix:
8:18 "held back from" the from is doubled
10:17 stumble over "so the game may be fairly stablished" - note also that it's stablished rather than established. I wouldn't normally raise that last point, but if you're re-recording the phrase again it would be nice to fix that too.
14:29 the word in the text is "aught" rather than "sought" - confusing as "sought" is in the next phrase!
25:40 the phrase should be "show some ruth" rather than "show some truth".

Cheers,
Paul

Hi Annie...
AngeliqueAnja wrote: December 26th, 2020, 5:52 pm Here are two more parts form me:
A few small corrections on these, please.

Section 35
15:58 please clean up repeated phrase "of the"

Section 36
There needs to be 5s of silence at the end of the file.
3:14 "rejoyeth" should be "rejoiceth"
12:52 "...end of her song, and they sprinkled..." should be "...end of her song, Al-Abbas swooned away and they sprinkled..."

Thanks,
Paul
