Certainly! I see that you have passed your 1-minute test already, so you can get started whenever you are ready. Everything you need to know should be contained in the first post of this thread, but let me know if you have any questions. :)

Hi, could I read for Court Jew Act 6? I notice it just says "Jew" for some of the lines, is that the same character?
Thank you!

Thank you, everyone! I realize that I am behind in my PLs for this project, but I am off for a whole week now, ahhhhhh..... :9: So they'll definitely get caught up here very shortly!

Thank you, Helena! Yes, there is only one Jew in this act, and it's the Court Jew. Some of the other acts have other Jews, but they don't make an appearance in act 6. :)

Could I read the following parts:
(1) Headsman in act 7, (Short, but I'll have fun with this one :-)
(2) Laborer in Act 6 (very Short)
(3) Sentinel in Act 5 (including Two others & all the spirits).

I would get Headsman and Laborer done quickly (within the week), then continue with Sentinel et al.

Thanks -
Doug

That sounds great, thank you! And yes, the Headsman is quite a humorous part. Enjoy it!

Thank you, Anya! Act 4 is perfect, short and sweet!

For act 7, it seems I owe you an apology. I forgot to make note in that act that I'd like you to read the lines for "Guard" as well. Didn't make sense to me to cast two guards when one would do the job just fine. There are four "Guard" lines on page 176, one on 184, and one on 185. Do you mind adding those?

(Oh yes, and your volume for both of these is just a tad high, especially for act 7. It doesn't matter much for a dramatic reading, since I'll be adjusting volume anyway, but you may need to keep an eye on it for other kinds of projects.)

Here is The Old Man, act 7 and 9, sections 31 and 32.

Thanks,
Diane
Both PL ok, thank you so much! I especially enjoyed your portrayal of the old man in act 9. A very smooth talker, he is, and I detected a bit of impatience towards the end, when Hindbad doesn't seem ready to go along with his suggestion. Well done!

Here is the file for Apothecary Act 8. Duration is 4 minutes, 2 seconds and 3.4mb

Tchaikovsky.

PS I will get on to the Architect next.
Ha! Just as I expected, I enjoyed hearing this role! His morality is pretty inflexible until gold is involved, and then it gets a bit more... squishy. There's just one issue to address.

3:06-3:15 There is some electronic-type static under your words here. Would you mind re-recording these lines so as to eliminate that? The lines are on page 215, near the bottom.

Thank you! I like the rhythmic intonation you gave to the Deathwatch lines. I think that will sound quite eerie, together with Aladdin's lines and the narrator. :D There is one missing line.

0:58 Missing line for "Multitude." It is on page 186, Starting with "Aladdin's innocent, let him go free! He is our friend..."

Thank you, Helena! Nice work on your first (if I'm not mistaken) dramatic role! There isn't very much to work with in this small role, but you made the most of what is there, no question! You do have a few things to address. I understand that you are new to using Audacity, is that right? Let me know if you need some pointers!

First, you have quite a bit of background noise in this file. I don't know whether anyone has mentioned Audacity's noise reduction tool to you, but it's a wonderful tool, and very easy to use: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Noisecleaning_With_Pics If necessary, I could clean up that noise when I edit, but there are a couple other corrections to make as well, so you may want to give it a try! Most of us have at least a little background noise to clean. It has become a regular part of the process for me, on everything I record.

0:36 Word change that changes the meaning. I hear "Oh sir, the stones are really fine, I would say they again were mine!" Text reads "Oh sir, the stones are really fine, I would that they again were mine!"
0:47 There is a sneaky little "All" line at the end of the scene that you missed. Page 150: All the Workmen: "The Sultan, with his son-in-law!"
