I fully agree and it’s important to keep the memory alive in as many forms as possible.

Well, I guess you do implicitly agree - or you wouldn't be reading.
MW updated, thank you.

I have uploaded Section 3 to https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/armeniancrisis_03_greene_128kb.mp3. This section is 13:04 in length.
That's the end of the sections I initially claimed, but I'm happy to keep going right ahead, since I at least plan to read or listen to the rest regardless. (It's been easier for me to record and edit these than I expected.)
Or if you want to wait a bit to make room for anyone else who wants to read a part, that's fine with me too. Otherwise, you can put me down to read Sections 4-6!

Thanks Mike and Alan for your files!
Mike, I'm happy for you to read the next three sections. As you can see, there is overwhelming non-interest, so it's not as if you're taking anything away from anybody. I might take another section of this one later on, but for now: Have fun! (well, that sounds... weird )

I have a question about Section 4: beginning with "The Chronic Condition of Armenia and Kurdistan."
The beginning of this section contains two tables of tax amounts imposed on certain villages. I know you mentioned we're skipping tables in this section, which I can do. The next few sentences after these tables, though, refer to some of the entries in these tables, so they probably wouldn't make sense without the context of the tables. Which parts exactly should I omit then? (It's a bit unclear to me which of the accompanying sentences would be considered part of the captions or explanatory notes for the tables, versus the main text.) And should I say something like "table omitted" to explain this? I'm also fine with reading the tables too if that's easier; it might be a little confusing but it seems to me they're mostly just assigning monetary values to things demanded of different regions.
I also noticed that in the section following that there are some nested Roman numerals (i.e. top level I, II, III..., second level 1., 2., 3...). What's the preferred method for making the distinction between these two levels when reading?
Everything else in these three sections seems straightforward to read I think.

Hi there and welcome to this project! Section 7 is yours - thank you very much!
This is a rather difficult read, let me know if you have any questions.
Moving on to your questions Mike:
I'd say that the tables are necessary for the understanding here, so if you could read them please...
In order to make them as easy to understand as possible, you may slightly (!) change the wording here, for example in the first table, last line of 1. we have:
Produce taken by gendarmes - 2,000 ps - 9,000 ps.
I would add "total" before the 9000 piasters to help people understand where that number is coming from all of a sudden. You get what I mean.
As for the nested numerals, yes, that a pita as well... This one is not too bad I think, and it's just for the first two, so personally I would just go with 1, 2, 3... for I, II, III... Of course you can also say "Roman Numeral One" etc; I leave that up to you.
Cheers, Ava.

Excellent, thanks! Yeah I agree it's probably best to read these tables, especially because they're not that difficult as tables go. I'll do that.

I'm going away for a week and don't know how good connectivity will be at the holiday home. I'll try to PL while I'm away but if not, I'll catch up when I'm back.
