It's not easy, but I am trying to be consistent: :hmm:

1. If the quote is very short, just a word or two, I just intone it.
- 1a. If it is important to make sure the word gets understood figuratively, I say "в кавычках" before or after.
2. If the quote is longer, but short enough to get intoned in its entirety, I say "в кавычках" before or after.
3. If the quote is too long for intonation, then at the end I always say "конец цитаты". In the beginning:
- 3a. If the quote is introduced (e.g. "as he writes in his letter to X...") then I just intone the start of the quote.
- 3b. If the quote is not introduced then I say "начало цитаты".
Hi Mark, I didn't realise you have developed such a sophisticated quoting system! Well done

Sections 5 & 6, Tutchev and Tolstoy - PL OK. :)

Thank you, Lena!

I did not realize how sophisticated the system is, until I started writing about it.
I hope it makes sense for the listener...

How is your Kant project going? There are Kant references in sec.8:

Hi Mark!
How is your Kant project going? There are Kant references in sec.8:
I'm actually thinking of abandoning it unfortunately and only contributing to collaborative projects and DPL activities. I think it will work best for me this way.

Will start listening to Section 8 now :D

Thank you, Lena! The next section 11: https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/throughtheliterature_11_eichenbaum_128kb.mp3 [22:20]

I hope you don't abandon Kant completely, you could just put it on hold and return to it later, when you get more experience. Or you could convert it to a group project.
If I can help with an advice or encouragement -- please let me know :)
There are a couple of collaborative projects linked in my signature. If you come across an interesting project -- please invite me!

Hi Mark, you're right, too early to give up on Kant :).

Re Section 09 - See 14:35 and 14:50, there's an extra fragment there that should be removed

Hi Mark, I had a listen to Section 10, well done! Your German insertions fit very naturally . Just a question: why do you end the section with "Окончание следует"? The requirements say the outros should not alter in form from that stated in the title post.

Hello, Lena, sorry for the delay.
https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/throughtheliterature_09_eichenbaum_128kb.mp3 [32:32] -- fixed, thank you for the catch!
https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/throughtheliterature_12_eichenbaum_128kb.mp3 [22:41] -- ready!
https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/throughtheliterature_13_eichenbaum_128kb.mp3 [28:51] -- ready!
https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/throughtheliterature_14_eichenbaum_128kb.mp3 [12:54] -- ready!

re. section 10, I usually say "Окончание следует" or "продолжение следует" when a logical division is cut in pieces, that helps the listener to get oriented. There is no cut in stone rule, and we have flexibility in intro and outro. :D
Thank you for paying attention, though!
