I had to do a lot of editing with this one to keep it rolling along. Please let me know if any of the rhythm sounds not-quite-right. I became desensitized to it or oversensitized; I'm not sure which. Thank you so much.

That's it for Edward Lear. Gilbert (without Sullivan) is up next.

I changed the spacing between stanzas several times. Let me know if you have any problem with what I wound up with. Thanks!

Greetings -

We have added Chapters 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 20 to the list of PL OK readings. Nicely done.

Grace, you have a knack for matching rhythm to each of the poems. It makes them fun to listen to. One question...do you have problems keeping from giggling at all of this nonsense?

Thank you :9: I appreciate your time and reassurance.

Lomond
 No. I rehearse each one so thoroughly, I overcome the shock of the punchlines. When I recall times when I was overcome with giggles during performances, I think it was because I was feeling foolish or insecure. When I'm recording, I'm so focused on expressing the energy of the text, giggles don't intrude.

Or maybe it's because I have a very reluctant sense of humor. I laugh easily when things make me happy, and when I'm interacting with people but comedy has to be exceptionally clever to make me laugh.

Also, I think it was W.C. Fields who said that comedy is a serious business. I seriously want to take the edge off the struggles everyone's experiencing now.

Wishing you a bright perspective on your day,
Grace

I hit an obstacle when I got to the French verses. I'll skip them and record the rest of the English ones tomorrow, and return to the French another day. Speaking French is an interesting challenge for me. One minute I have it, and the next minute I've lost it.

They are sounding crackly to me, but I think that the headphones are the problem. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks so much! Enjoy!

Nothing crackly heard here. Just your normal great reading of poems. Chapters 15, 16, and 17 are now listed as PL OK.

Yay! Thanks so much for your reassurance. Each time I play them, the crackles are in different places, so I'll continue attributing it to my headphones and keep moving ahead.
