hi i dont understand this bit at the end of act 3 scene 3

SCAN. No, don’t; for then you’ll tell us no more. Come, I’ll recommend a song to you upon the hint of my two proverbs, and I see one in the next room that will sing it. [Goes to the door.]

TATT. For heaven’s sake, if you do guess, say nothing; Gad, I’m very unfortunate.

SCAN. Pray sing the first song in the last new play.

SONG.
Set by Mr. John Eccles.

I.

A nymph and a swain to Apollo once prayed,
The swain had been jilted, the nymph been betrayed:
Their intent was to try if his oracle knew
E’er a nymph that was chaste, or a swain that was true.

II.

Apollo was mute, and had like t’have been posed,
But sagely at length he this secret disclosed:
He alone won’t betray in whom none will confide,
And the nymph may be chaste that has never been tried.

..............Does scandal sing this song? and as im scandal does that mean i sing it to some sort of tune? read it as a poem or something else?

Those two songs have already been recorded by Tattle.

(Might not be who the author actually intended, but that's okay.)

Thanks, Todd

 you convey the innocent country beauty quite well, Jenn. I suspect she is not as silly as she wants to make believe. She is quite adamant at getting herself a husband. I am looking forward to hearing the your dialogue with Tattle edited together. It will make a funny scene.

Thanks, it's perfectly PL ok.

thank you, M, this was another great performance. Mrs Foresight is quite the flirt here, again we can pity Todd in his choice of wife  (he seems to pick them). I especially like your very first sentence, there is some tiny evil undertone in your voice when you say you like them to quarrel. And the flirting scene is great too.

Only a few cuts to make here:

> from 0:09-1:04: repetition: They have quarrelled, just as we could wish. / Bless me, what’s the matter, Miss? What, does she cry? Mr. Benjamin, what have you done to her? / Come, Miss, come along with me, and tell me, poor child. - you say these first three speeches twice. Could you cut out one of the versions please and leave only the one you prefer ?

> oh and careful with the filenaming for drama projects. We don't use the section numbers here, as the sections get dragged around quite a bit. We always use the act-number to differentiate, so here it should have been "mrsforesight_3".

Thanks

Thanks for all your help. I have no idea what happened that I didn't catch that that section was in there twice.

I have corrected that and also the filename (sorry I was operating on autopilot there.)

aaah, what a schemer you prove in Act 3  trying to snatch poor Valentine from Angelica with such a cunning plot. Tststs...

Very well done, M  I loved the whole performance, and both Acts are PL ok :)

That sums up your role in this play, but I hope we'll be hearing more from you in other plays soon. 8-)

Thank you

Thank you so much for all your kind words and assistance. I appreciated all your words of wisdom along the way. It was quite a different experience from reading books and poetry. I'll have to keep my eyes out for more conniving characters.

Thanks,

That was a fun role. I always enjoy doing comic servants
