Studies in Stagecraft by Clayton Hamilton (1881 - 1946).

This project is now complete.  All audio files can be found on our catalog page here:

https://librivox.org/studies-in-stagecraft-by-clayton-hamilton/

A companion piece to Hamilton's earlier work, The Theory of the Theatre. Where that volume dealt with the criticism of dramatic art in general, this volume focuses more specifically on the contemporary drama of the era in which it was written. (Summary by Andrew Gaunce)

To be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, all unrecorded sections that were claimed more than 2 months ago will be orphaned on March 7th unless the claimants post in this thread before then to reclaim the section.

    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=hvd.32044018811950&view=1up&seq=7
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

With Theory of the Theatre just about wrapped up, I thought it would be a good time to kick off it's first companion piece. I've only skimmed this volume so far, but Theory of the Theatre was a fascinating little theatrical time capsule, and I feel like this aught to be more of the same.

I've reached out to a potential DPL, but I'm not sure yet if they'll be interested or available. I'll update accordingly when I hear back - if they aren't able to join us, I'll definitely be in the market for a DPL on this one.

Let me know if anything in the top post needs an update, or if anyone has any questions.

Thanks!

I'm okay with it!

We don't have a MC just yet, but if you've got your eye on a particular chapter(s), by all means make a claim & I'll register it as soon as we're set up :D

Wonderful! Much appreciated :)

MW is filled out & early claims are registered - thanks folks!

In other good news - we have a DPL! After coming to the rescue on Theory of the Theatre, ADKreader1122 got back to me via PM and has kindly agreed to tag along for the sequel
