Confessions of a Tradesman by Frank Thomas Bullen (1857 - 1915).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/confessions-of-a-tradesman-by-frank-thomas-bullen/
Frank T. Bullen is most well known for his books based on his adventures at sea. However he had a life on shore as well. He first went to sea as a boy as a cabin boy. He there had many adventures as a hand on a whaling ship. He then came ashore and tried his hand at being a "Tradesman". This is that story and also tells how he became the well-known author he is now. It is a very interesting, enjoyable and entertaining depiction of the trials and tribulations he had in his life in 19th Century London as a tradesman. ( Wayne Cooke)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/63556
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi,

To whomever picks this up, when the MW is created, I would like for the Preface to be Section 0 if I could.

Thanks,

Wayne

OK, your MW is ready for you. We will wait here a day or two to see if we can pick up a DPL.

Ann,

Thanks a lot, and that sounds like a plan. I don't know if you have read about my internet problems, but I have been internetless for over a week and it may be almost another week before I get it back. So I will record, but nothing will probably be up for a while.

I am borrowing a laptop and WiFi to kind of keep up.

Thanks again,

I had not heard about your internet problems, but I know one other person (not on LV) who is also without internet and had just checked in yesterday. Not a problem, I only worry about the Houdinis after about a month or so. Sometimes it takes about that long to get settled in and rolling on a solo project.

Colleen,

I am glad you stepped in and no one got in before you. I should get my internet back in the next two or three days and I should be able to start then. :D

I had a work deadline this week, but now have at least a few days to focus on LV stuff, so I will be catching up with whatever you have so far!
