Following up on spot-checking Stage Directions.
Let me know if some of the PL notes were skipped intentionally, it is after all an option.
If it was unintentional, here are old and new PL notes:

Act 1
1:20, missing "Zuleika (reclining on a couch)
at the very end an extra phrase that can be deleted. (Ayesha arises ...)

Act 2: PL OK!

Act 3 uses Chapter 3 instead of Act 3 at 0:19

Act 4:
0:20, I think it would sound better if it started with "Act 4 (scene 1)
1:08, missing "during (which time Ayesha sings)
1:57 text in the original is (after a moment Ayesha) re-enters"

Act 5: PL OK!

Just to let you know, I will always either follow the PL notes (and that is all most all the time) or make a note why I didn't.

Now, as to Act I, I misread the comment. I was looking for "reclining on a couch" as the missing part, not Zuleika. That is now fixed.
And I can't believe I didn't take all that icky stuff off of the end of the recording. :( I am soooo sorry!!

Act III. Dummy Wayne, "Chapter 3"??????? I was even looking at that when I did it. Last time I looked, 'Act' is not pronounced 'Chapter'.

Act IV. The first one was corrected the first time. I don't know how the other two didn't make it onto the file. I remember correcting them, but I must have messed up in the saving or something.

Thank you for all your hard work. If at all, you should only have to listen to a recording twice, not thrice.

So, here is attempt III:

Hello,

Could I take on the part of Gulzara, please?

Thanks!

EJ

“Gulzara, The Persian Slave” is a rare example of a script for a Victorian melodrama that was intended as a private theatrical – to be performed by a limited cast of amateurs in a home or school, not on a public stage. Rarer still, “Gulzara” was written by a female author to be performed by a cast of women. The only male character, Amurath, was a “breeches role,” played by a young girl. Thus this drama, set in a harem in Constantinople, in addition to spinning a yarn about the abduction of Sultan Suliman’s son, gives us an unusual peek at the lives of young women in the U.S. in the 1840’s and 50’s. ( Kelly S. Taylor)
Rapunzelina will be our DPL for this project.

The part of the young boy, Amurath, is what Victorians called a “breeches role” and was always played by a young lady. In keeping with this tradition, gender neutral casting is welcomed for this character.

    1. Is there a deadline?
We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    2. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here
To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    3. New to recording?
Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vRDbXNjpw2RKhTYKEQeBZPVrIXdb4AuSIPAzhEMSrhHyeJ481GTKFCrffqajn-Rp9Wql5RwgCs9RW4F/pub
    5. For reference (for MC and DPL) an online copy of the original is available here: https://digital.library.villanova.edu/Item/vudl:472359#?c=&m=&s=&cv=2&xywh=-2103%2C-1%2C6304%2C3000
    6. Please claim roles (the numbers in the first column below)! Please note: All Librivox recordings are in the public domain. When you submit your recording, you will be placing your recording in the public domain as well.

If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!
