I started looking into LibriVox the summer of 2016 but got sidetracked. Then, in 2018 I started training with "Such A Voice". That got me set-up and a demo, In 2019 I started my website (VoiceOverWithP.com), did some auditions and a volunteer audio book for Learning Ally. Unfortunately, I started losing my voice that September and spent a year in therapy, learning to eat differently and hydrate more. Finally last month my vocal cords were operated on (same operation as Dr. Fauci). Now I am back to LibriVox to try doing audio books again. :)

Welcome to LibriVox again Penny! You bring lots of training and talent to us, thanks. I am not familiar with the operation you speak of, would you be willing to elaborate? It sounds like a terrible problem. I've made a little video to welcome people; It has some basic info about us that I thought might be helpful to know right at the start. In any case ask lots of questions, we are a helpful bunch here and you will fit right in. https://youtu.be/mwtn_2d3_qs
Oh and Maria, our LibriVox pickle, can hardly contain her excitement Image

The operation on my vocal cords, was to shave off a nodule that kept it from closing completely (apparently they also plucked off an infected mucus duct while they were at it), These nodules or polyps occur from straining your voice. (I had acid reflux as well as coxing a rowing team - go figure!)

Thank you for the explanation Penny. I hope everything is even better than before. Ask if anything is confusing.
