JBev wrote: November 2nd, 2020, 3:34 pm Hi from JBev!

May I record Section 14, parts I and II, "Nostalgia of the Obelisks" -- I downloaded a digital copy of those two sections from the Gutenberg source.

These will be my first two short recordings :) ; No need to state my name as reader, if okay.

Q1: Do I state "by Theophile Gautier and translated to English by Agnes Lee" ?

Q2: Does each poem need the section title first, then "[part x, title]" on the recording ?

Love these two poems, hope I'm accepted to give them a try!
Hi jbev, welcome to librivox!

You are welcome to read that section. To be able to sign you up, i need to know under which name or pseudonym you would like to appear in the catalog. We can also link to your personal website or blog.

Please check the first post for the project, all instructions are there. Also note that this will be one recording, not two. Just leave like a heartbeat of extra silence between the two parts.

Thank you!

Thanks so much! I'd like to go by jbev as a pseudonym in the catalog. One recording it will be, with a heartbeat between :D

Yep, it's been too long. But, I've tried to keep some poetry projects on the board, and have several more to launch this week. :)
I'll get PL reports up soon for those pending.

In the meantime, here are three from me. I'll go ahead and put them in the MW.

Section #42 The Cloud

Section #46 The Dove

I removed the long lead time for Section #10 and Section #21 and uploaded new files:

Section #10 - Spring's First Smile

1.93 MB / 2.03 min

Hi, Curtis!
I'm just coming on board to proof listen for this project.

I've listened to these four poems and there are a few things that need correction.

First, ALL of them need to have FIVE seconds of silence at the end. This is in the recording instructions and is standard for all LV projects.

Second, your files for 10 and 21 are now in the incorrect sampling rate. They are at 48,000 Hz and we need them to be at 44,100 Hz
You can change this when you export the new files.

In addition, there are some reading corrections to be made for Section 10. These are ones that were noticeable or affect the meaning.

:50 The word is “stealth ily” I hear something like, “steth-ily (this jumped out at me)
1:01 The word is, “solfeggios” I hear something like “sofligies” which is something different.
1:48 Text: “from his fair creating,” I hear, “for his fair creating,”

Again, upload the corrected files under the same name, post the links here with the new file lengths and I'll check them again.

Thank for your contributions to this project.
