Volume three of the Complete Works contains several short introductory essays, five lectures under the heading "On the Future of our Educational Institutions," and finally an inaugural speech by the author entitled "Homer and Classical Philology." Here it is, Dave. I didn't say on the set up that there was introductory material because there were more than the usual number, so I planned to treat them each as just another section. Also, I reduced the file name rather significantly. I didn't think we needed to say Nietzsche twice. But please advise. I am at you service. Thanks again. Jim
Dave, I have been talking to LectorRecitator who has made a list of Nietzsche's works not yet recorded for LV. I mentioned that I wanted to do the Homer speech in volume three and then he complained about the dividing up of some of the volumes of Nietzsche's works. So I asked if I should record the whole volume even though parts were already recorded. In other words, I would be recording the Volume Three that is actually the book on Gutenberg. He said yes if I was willing. And I am, but what do you think? Jim
Let me know if any changes are needed. It occurred to me that in the intro you might say, "....The Complete Works of Fried Nietzsche: Volume 3 edited by Oscar Levy. This Librivox..." Your thoughts? I added the translator to the Project Screen.
I've listened to the intros of the other book and they mention the translator but not the editor in the introduction. I think you could follow that or do something different. A suggestion but not a recommendation would be to mention the editor (and/or translator) only in the first intro and the last outro of the book. Elsewhere just saying "by FN." It's really your call. I tend to lean towards keeping the intros shorter when possible. Am I correct that the editor did not write any prose in the text? if so, i would be inclined to mention the translator and not the editor in the intros/outros.
Yes, I agree. I will mention the translator at the beginning and at the end only. And I took out all the by Friedrich Nietzsche because his name is already mention as the author in the titles of the series. Does that work or not? Thanks.
