Prometheus Illbound by André Gide (1869 - 1951). Translated by Lilian Rothermere (1874 - 1937)

This project can now be found in our catalog at https://librivox.org/prometheus-illbound-by-andre-gide/
There is a witty and absurdist character to this contemporary setting of the plight of Prometheus, in which Zeus appears as a tremendously wealthy banker, meting out gratuitous fortune. Prometheus' troubled relationship with his liver-devouring eagle provides a means of insight for those he encounters. Rather than a myth the story has the nature of a fable. ( Peter Tucker)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/60914
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Thank you Phil
I will start on this soon - just finishing up another project.
I have been possibly a bit optimistic about number of sections, will have to see how it pans out, and will add sections if necessary.

Section 00 is PL OK.

I’m noting a proper noun for future reference. If you wish to change it in this section, it’s at 1.06 (if you don't want to that's fine, but I'd rather write down the time and not use it than fish for it later if you do alter it).

Section 1 is PL OK.

Could you double check that section 0 has been reuploaded? I'm hearing the same pronunciation of Zeus at 1.06, and the file length is identical.

Section 1 uses the same Zeus, at 1.35. Could you just check that that's what you intended?

Erin

PS I'm not sure when you plan to begin the next project, but if you'd like me to PL, put my name down in the project thread when you launch it.

Thanks
Looks like I forgot to upload corrected version of Sect 0 - seems to be fixed now - also fixed Zeus in Sect 1.
