You see, you would be the third newbie to claim a role in this project just to promptly disappear, and obviously, I'm not keen on this at all. I've seen plenty of beginners on here with the "oh, shiny new thing!!" look in their eyes just to find out too quickly that they need to record all those claims sooner or later.

I'm sorry if I'm sounding bitchy, but this is a lot of work (it would immediately double your open commitments) and you shouldn't step into this lightly.
I understand. I’m sure there are a lot of people who have found “a shiny new thing” and then quickly abandoned it. I have already recorded some sections and understand that I do need to actually record the claims

I’ll check back in on the project towards the end of June or beginning of July once I catch up on my outstanding claims. Not planning on going anywhere.

I'm sorry, but this is exactly what I was afraid of in my post responding to your claim back in June. :? It's been three months now and nothing has happened, I'm not going to wait any longer until your schedule allows you to get recording again. I've never been patient and this project has been stalled for too long already.

So, I'm removing your claim from the project and will record Charlotte myself. There's no shame reflected on you; life gets busy and we sometimes bite off more than we can chew. I hope to see you in other projects - good luck with your own play! :D

I have just uploaded charlotte's first section.

Not sure if we still have a DPL?

Todd, thanks for stepping in to get this finished!
Both the preface and the epilog are now yours (you can take the role of the author) and please read the intro/outro to each section. I'm not sure if there are many stage directions within the text, probably not.

Also, at the end of the preface I'd like to have the cast list. How about adding something like this:

This is a Librivox Dramatic Reading, narrated by ToddHW,
Charlotte read by
Ellen read by
Mamma read by (use the actual voice credits).

Do you think that's okay? How are others dealing with the cast list in DRs?
Cheers, Ava.

In most DRs, we'd have it as

This is a Librivox Dramatic Reading
Charlotte read by (replace these words when you use the actual voice credit)
Ellen read by (replace these words when you use the actual voice credit)
Mamma read by (replace these words when you use the actual voice credit)
Narrated by ToddHW

Thank you for adding me into the MW - I live and die by the My Librivox project listing which this project now shows up on. (I had forgotten I had volunteered!)

Thanks, Todd

I should point out that the above include the Cast List and Preface (both in section 1), and Epilog (in section 30).

That was unexpected.

Maybe this project needs a slightly different approach - let me think about this over the weekend.

Different approach?

There were no stage directions in the chapters/lessons themselves: everything else but what I recorded is dialog. I assumed you would just assemble those dialog voices together like a play.

Thanks, Todd
