btw: Your DC offset is usually a bit off normal. You might find this helpful: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Questions_and_Answers#Recording_is_Off-centre
Interesting that you conclude that it is DC offset. I think it's just my aggressive noise gate. I have used noise reduction for these two instead. Do you prefer the effect? If you do, I can chnage the others to noise reduction instead.

Actually, I've been seeing that when I run your uploads through Checker. So, it's not something I'm hearing. I run my own recordings through Checker before I upload, especially to check my volume and get an accurate length. But DC offset is one of the things the program checks. You may find that helpful.

As to the sound, your voice and reading are excellent. I have been puzzled, however, about the "dead" spots. Perhaps that is taken care of by your change of noise reduction steps.

Since it's late here on the east coast, I'm going to wait until tomorrow to put these two in the MW. But in the meantime, you might want to try Checker and see what happens.

Peace be with you,

Oh dear, sounds like the noise gate has not had the intended effect ("dead spots").
Here are 25 and 26 reuploaded without it.

Let me know too if you want me to reupload the others (that are already PL OK)

InTheDesert,

I don't know that you need to reupload anything. I just ran your last sections 25, 26, 27, 28 through Checker. The first three were a bit off but the 28 was nearly perfect.

Do you listen to your recordings as mp3 before uploading? I listen on VLC. Do you hear the "dead spots?" They are spots between sentences with absolutely no sound. Now, I'm not sure that that's related to the DC offset. For that, I recommend the links I provided above as well as Checker.

As for noise reduction, I use that, too. But not to the extent that I get silence.

I hope this helps.

Peace be with you,

The dead spots are caused by the noise gate plugin which removes everything below a certain level. Different people will feel different ways about it. I note that the wiki (https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Noise_Cleaning#Noisecleaning) says the following: "The brain doesn't like Total Silence. Total silence seems to alarm the brain, and that's not a good thing when you're listening to an audiobook for pleasure. It's better to leave a tiny bit of noise than to go for complete and total silence between the words. This helps the brain stay engaged and lends to a smooth enjoyable listening experience!"

So in future I won't use it!

Section 9 (Psalm 38 pt 2)

2:02- wrong word...our own “savoriness”. Should be ...our own “unsavoriness”

26:41-a section of 5 sentences is repeated after the word observe ... “You understand what i said...” should be replaced with “ this nearness...“

Thank you! The MW has been updated.
When I set up this project, I estimated the length of every section, knowing who would be the fastest and that I'd be the slowest. When you began, you were right on the estimate and now you are quite a bit faster. I mention this is only because you are saying that it's a hard translation. fwiw: Your slower recordings were quite enjoyable. If you rush, you'll leave your listeners behind.

Section 25 (Psalm 45, pt 2)

9:51–missing phrase “ Let us come before” ... the Prophet says Let us come before. (Let us prevent)...

Everything else is very Beautifully read!
